“成长小说”的创作传统悠久，在不同的国家形成了不同的发展模式。日本作家岛崎藤村的《破戒》、三岛由纪夫的《金阁寺》、村上春树的《海边的卡夫卡》分别产生于三个不同的历史时期，堪称日本成长小说的经典之作。本论文试图对成长小说的内涵及判断作出较具普遍性的归纳，在细读文本的基础上、基于传统与现代成长小说的差异来剖析三部作品中各具特色的成长主题，从而勾勒出日本成长小说的演变历程，并进一步探究日本成长小说有别于欧美经典成长小说之处在于日本民族独特的文化内涵与审美精神。

The Bildungsroman has a long tradition and forms different patterns in different countries. This thesis takes three novels, Broken Oath and Golden Pavilion and Kafka on the Shore, which were written in different times, as examples, analyzing the unique theme on growth of each other, thus drawing the outline of the Japanese Bildungsroman, and further exploring the cultural connotation of Japan, which makes a difference between the Japanese Bildungsroman and Western Bildungsroman. In addition, the thesis is on the base of the difference between the traditional and modern bildungsroman and with the method of close reading of the texts.
