《剑桥英国戏剧史》（The Cambridge History of British Theatre）是最早于2004年由剑桥大学出版社出版的一部非虚构作品，共三卷。该书第一卷共19章，全书关注英国戏剧的“起源、形成、历史分期、表演特征、文学特征、史料特征”等重大问题，同时也记载了王权更迭、宗教改革、文艺复兴等英国文化与历史上的重要事件。

本论文是基于笔者参与的《剑桥英国戏剧史》第一卷英译汉翻译审校项目所完成的报告。报告的主要内容是分析审校过程中出现的翻译问题，提出审校者相应的解决方案。本报告讨论的案例分为三大部分：一是信息准确性的审校，本部分主要探讨如何解决词汇短语、句子逻辑与历史事实的误译；二是内容完整性的审校，探讨如何解决信息不必要的增删与补充背景信息；三是语言风格的审校，探讨如何修正臃肿的表达、消除翻译腔并使译文更符合中文语言习惯。针对上述问题，笔者认为译审人员应加强准确理解原文本的能力，确保译文与原文达到信息层面的对等；加强查证资料与判断逻辑关系的能力，谨慎对待与历史事件相关的文本；加强中文表达能力，确保语言流畅简洁，避免出现与中文语言习惯不符的译文。通过分析上述问题，笔者希望能为今后的译审工作提供参考。

The Cambridge History of British Theatre is a three-volume nonfiction work originally published by Cambridge University Press in 2004. The first volume of this book consists of 19 chapters and focuses on the “origin, formation, historical stages, performance characteristics, literary characteristics, historical characteristics” and other major and important issues of British drama. At the same time, it is inseparable from the important events in British culture and history, such as the regime change, the religious reform, and the Renaissance.

This report is on the revision project of the translation of the first volume of The Cambridge History of British Theatre. The main content of the report is to analyze the translation problems and to introduce the solutions from the author. The cases are divided into three parts. First, accuracy: this part mainly explores how to solve the mistranslation of words and phrases and how to avoid logical and factual errors. Second, completeness: it discusses how to address unnecessary additions and deletions of information and supplement background information. Third, language and style: it discusses how to make the sentences smooth and concise, avoid translationese, and make the translation more in line with target language style. The author believes that translators should strengthen their ability to accurately understand the original text, to ensure that the translation has the same meaning as the original text. Meanwhile, translators should strengthen their ability to verify the data, and pay more attention to the relative historical events. Translators must express ideas well in Chinese, be sensitive to inappropriate expressions, and make the translation accepted by native speakers. By analyzing the above problems, this report hopes to provide a reference for the translation and revision work in the future.
