城市社区博物馆在保护与展示一个城市社区的历史文化的同时，具有文化娱乐、社会服务等外延功能，强调发挥社区居民作为资源提供者、发展参与者的主体性作用，注重激发社会力量。城市社区博物馆在我国的实践探索彰显着鲜明的中国特色，其管理体制以政府主导建设为主，部分由政企合作共建、第三方参与建设，少数为社区居民自建；在运营机制中，众多城市社区博物馆设有专职人员，也有志愿者共同参与或社区居民自行管理；社区功能则体现在承载社区集体记忆、反映当地工业印记、服务社区居民这些方面。西方城市社区博物馆社区居民主导色彩浓厚，关注社会议题，同时注重青年教育，提升社会凝聚力。中国城市社区博物馆本土化进程中，需要加强政策引导，充分发挥民间力量的作用，注重拓展其附属功能，探索“城市社区博物馆+文化活动中心”新模式，注重活态的文化传承，使得城市社区博物馆在中国扎根生长的同时与国际形态的社区博物馆接轨。

        The urban community museum not only preserves and showcases the history of the community, but also serves as a platform for cultural entertainment and social services, which emphasizes the active involvement of community residents as contributors and participants in development, while also focusing on motivating social forces. The practices of urban community museums in China are full of Chinese characteristics, with diverse ownership models including government-led construction, public-private partnerships, third-party participation and self-construction by residents from the community. In terms of operation, many urban community museums are managed by professional staffs, volunteers or community residents themselves. The connection between urban community museum and local community is evident through their preservation of collective memory, reflection of local industrial heritage, and service to the needs of the residents. In order to localize Chinese urban community museums, we need some policy to motivate public participation. At the same time, the auxiliary functions of urban community museums should be expanded and some new models should be explored to keep up with international constructions while establishing roots in China.
