研究经济视角下的中国现代小说，具有重要的学术价值和现实意义。伴随着中国现代小说研究进入多视角、多层次解读的新阶段，经济视角日益成为一个不容忽视的研究视角。在观照现代小说的思想启蒙、社会政治、伦理道德、文化等视角的基础上，研究现代小说经济视角的独特价值和意义在于，能够帮助我们从一个新的角度来探究现代小说精神内涵的丰富性，进一步辨析现代小说与经济社会发展的某些内在联系，挖掘中国现代小说别具一格的独特价值，更加客观地评价其广度、深度上达到的艺术成就。 梳理现代小说经济视角研究的历史和现状，相关成果比较有限，多单篇个案性的研究，少系统、宏观、深入的学术成果。鉴于此，本文试图由点及面，对现代小说中的经济视角进行整体分析；由表及里，探究小说描摹经济生活表象下的精神实质。论文结构分为上、下二编。上编内含三章，沿着现代文学史的纵向发展脉络，从整体上系统论述了中国现代小说经济视角的历史演进，探讨了现代小说三十年经济视角的主要形态及其多元化和丰富性特征。第一章，论述五四小说对社会底层经济生活和命运的关注，探讨经济视角的萌生；第二章，论述1930年代小说对社会经济形势的聚焦，探讨经济视角的勃发；第三章，论述1940年代小说对国家多元区域经济形态的书写，探讨经济视角的转型。论文下编亦分三章，以横向剖析的方式，从人的解放、社会批判和伦理剖析三个层面论述了中国现代小说经济视角的精神内涵。第四章，关注小说从经济视角探究人的解放；第五章，关注小说从经济视角展开社会批判；第六章，关注小说从经济视角进行伦理剖析。通过辩证地阐明经济对人的解放的关键作用，揭示经济关系对伦理关系的深刻影响，从经济制度批判社会政治制度，从经济运行状况剖析社会前途命运，从经济形态审视社会民生，从而实现经济视角下中国现代小说独特审美价值和文学史意义的深度解析。论文结语部分综合归纳了现代小说经济视角的重要价值意义及对当下文学创作与研究的启示。论文试图通过重点梳理现代小说中描写的经济现象、经济关系，考察小说反映的同期经济社会发展历史状况，探究小说反映与历史真实的契合度，以及小说作家创作意图是否圆满实现，从而努力构建对现代小说经济视角的综合思考和价值判断。论文将经济视角与思想启蒙、社会政治、伦理道德、文化等视角放置在同一研究平台，力图从一定意义上丰富现代小说研究的角度，为现代小说研究视角的多元化作出些微努力，拓展对现代小说价值和意义的阐释与理解空间。
