In today's world where smart terminals and social media are deeply embedded in people's personal lives, changes of the media environment directly affect the audience's emotional expression and group appearance. The learning-oriented virtual community “study account” has realized the members' shared presence and emotions through a continuous posting of personal learning. This study takes the emotional gains of the community members as the research object and explores the logical formation of their emotional experience and emotional energy. The study found that by adopting grounded theory as a research method to conduct comprehensive investigation of the issue, 25 targeted community users were interviewed both online and offline to collect information. Subsequently, open coding, axial coding, and selective coding were conducted to uncover 6 main categories, 19 initial categories, and 46 initial concepts. Based on the coding results, the causal logic between different elements was sorted out, and a theoretical model about the emotional experience of the learning-oriented virtual community “study account” was constructed. The model suggests that self-disclosure of the members is the prerequisite and foundation of emotional experience. In the two primary contexts of mimetic companionship and peer comparison, the experience of companionship, encouragement, and stress constitutes the subject of emotional acquisition. Under the influence of group identity facilitated by mutual assistance and sharing, the emotional experience of the members can be transformed into the emotional energy of feedback to the community, promoting their further engagement.
