通过对国内外学者关于影响力和政治影响力的概念分析后，本文认为政治影响力是一切能使对象双方通过某种方式和途径产生互动的政治性因素。然后对中国的政治影响力的结构进行总体的说明论述，政治影响力可以分为直接层次的影响力和间接层次的影响力，涵盖政治外交、意识形态、经济、社会、文化等。政治影响力一方面它受到特定的政治制度和政治理念的制约，中国的政治影响力是具有社会主义性质的政治影响力。另一方面政治影响力是一个全面广泛的概念。它的结构及权力来源是多领域的，涉及政治经济社会文化等各个领域。具体而言，本文将按照以下顺序来展开论述：前言部分论述研究中国的政治影响力的意义，在分析已有研究文献的基础上概述当前的国内外研究现状，阐明本文的逻辑结构与研究方法，指出本文的研究主旨与创新之处。第一章主要阐明影响力及政治影响力的概念及内涵，认为政治影响力是一切能使对象双方通过某种方式和途径产生互动的政治性因素。并根据本身是否直接构成政治影响力的组成部分为标准将其分为政治影响力的直接层次和政治影响力的间接层次；第二章主要是对中国的政治影响力的结构的总体分析，指出它一方面受特定的政治制度与政治理念的制约，另一方面又是涵盖和涉及政治经济社会文化等各个层次且相互影响；第三章主要阐明构成中国政治影响力的直接层次，具体包括政治和外交、意识形态等等；第四章主要阐明构成间接政治影响力的间接层次，具体包括社会、经济、文化等等。
