The aim of this study was to assess the impact of Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) project on poverty alleviation in household at Mafinga District in Tanzania. The data were collected from three villages Isalavanu, Ndolezi and Changarawe. Other data were collected from department of social welfare office of TASAF in Mafinga District council. The specific purposes were to examine the TASAF project on improving living standard of household in Mafinga District, to identify the challenges encountered in implementing the project and what should be done to improve TASAF project. Data for this study were collected through interview and open ended questions and respondent were obtained through purposively sampling techniques which provide the convenient data. The sample size of this study were constituted 18 respondents, 15 respondents from household which were benefited from TASAF, Where by 8 were male and 7 were female and 3 officers from Mafinga District Council. Based on result of findings through qualitative analysis, the study shows that TASAF project it have pray a greater role on issues of poverty alleviation in the household. The results also proved that TASAF fund it is insufficient to beneficiary. The respondents have provided their contribution in order to make this project to be powerful successful on poverty reduction, the government of Tanzania should make sure that, they increase budget specifically for TASAF project which focus on assisting the poor households from poverty condition and encourage sustainable development.
