随着全球化的发展,英语在现代生活中发挥着越来越重要的作用。与此同时,英语口语在英语的听、说、读、写多项技能中,也是使用频率最高的一项技能。因此,找到适合非英语专业学生的英语口语学习策略尤为重要。
本文旨在找出能有效提高口语能力的英语口语学习策略。本研究以非英语专业为研究对象,研究结果不仅有利于非英语专业学生的学习,同时也对英语专业学生的学习和英语口语教学有所启发。
本文由五个部分组成。第一部分介绍了本课题,并对背景信息进行了简要说明。第二部分是对相关研究的文献综述,总结之前的研究者对英语学习策略的各种分类。第三部分是研究方法的介绍,研究方法包括问卷调查和访谈。来自文学、物理、心理学等不同专业的37名学生在线完成问卷调查,其中3名学生参加了深入访谈。第四部分是对研究结果的讨论和分析,结果表明,非英语专业学生英语口语确实存在一定的困难,只有少部分学生会经常使用口语学习策略。研究发现,学习者最常用的学习策略是补偿策略,而最不常用的是元认知策略,对于词汇记忆策略的使用也有所欠缺。第五部分得出了一些结论,指出了本文的局限性,并提出了改进研究过程的建议。

With the development of globalization, English plays an increasingly significant role in modern life. Meanwhile, among all the Enligsh skills, speaking skill ranks first from the perspective of using frequency. Therefore, to explore efficient ways of improving Chinese students’ oral English matters a lot.
This paper aims to find out the situation of non-English majors’ using English learning strategies which can improve the speaking proficiency. The subjects of this study are non-English majors while the findings will benefit not only non-English majors’ learning but also English majors’ learning and the oral English teaching.
This paper consists of five parts. The first part introduces the subject and illustrates the background information. The second part is a literature review about related research which shows the various classifications of English learning strategies. The third part is an introduction of research methods. This study is carried out through making questionnaire and interviewing. 37 students of different majors, such as literature, physics, psychology, are invited to finish the questionnaire online and 3 of them volunteer to attend the interview. The fourth part is the discussion and analysis of the research result which demonstrate that for non-English majors, they do have difficulty in speaking English fluently and only few of them often use speaking learning strategies. The result shows that the most often used strategies are compensation strategies, the least used are meta-cognitive strategies. Besides, the use of vocabulary memory strategies is inadequate. The fifth part draws some conclusion and points out the limitations of this paper along with suggestions for improving the research process.
