In contrast, in the Age of Enlightenment, with the progress of social changes and the promotion of the concept of progress in Britain, some enlightened people re-examined the intellectual differences between the sexes, believed that women were also born with intellectual ability, and regarded the training and promotion of female intelligence as an important indicator of the progress of civilized society and philosophy in the century. At the same time, with the development of British commercial society and the growth of demand for professional services, the middle class gradually formed and grew. Together with the progressive gentry class, they committed to the innovation and transformation of British society. As wives, daughters and members of society, more and more British women in the Enlightenment era also joined this project. Due to the abolition of the publication censorship Act and the progress of printing technology, British printing culture flourished in the Age of Enlightenment, which promoted the emergence of professional writers and the rise of the "reading public", in which women gradually occupied an important share, and the communication, mutual assistance and recognition consciousness among female intellectuals also increased. In this context, the British bluestockings was able to rise and continue to develop.
