Turkey is located at the intersection of Europe and Asia. It has unique geographical advantages and has nurtured a rich and long historical and cultural tradition. Its art forms such as music, drama, painting and architecture not only demonstrate Turkey's unique cultural characteristics, but also contribute unique samples to the diversity of world cultures. These cultural elements provide fertile soil for the development of Turkish cinema. In recent years, with the frequent international appearances of Turkish films, they have attracted the attention of global audiences with their distinctive national characteristics and innovative narrative techniques.

This study combs the historical context of Turkish comedy films in detail, from the early Karagöz tradition to the changes during the Tanzimat period, and then to the cultural development during the Republic period, revealing the evolution of comedy elements in Turkish dramas. The study further analyzed the development of comedy elements in Turkish films after 2000, as well as the diverse aesthetic styles presented in comedy films, including traditional religious aesthetics, cyberpunk science fiction aesthetics, vulgar violence aesthetics and surrealist absurd aesthetics. In addition, this article also comprehensively discusses the commercial operation strategies of Turkish comedy films in the new era, aiming to reveal how Turkish comedy films find their unique positioning and commercial success in the global film market. The origin and development of Turkish comedy films are closely linked to local cultural traditions, and their social and cultural significance in different historical periods is also different. From early shadow plays and puppet shows to modern crime comedies, tragicomedies and science fiction comedies, Turkish comedy films have experienced rich exploration and innovation. These films not only reflect challenges to authority and satire on social phenomena, but also reflect deep reflections on national values. In the 1980s and 1990s, Turkish comedy films explored social reality issues through humor and satire against the backdrop of political and economic turmoil, while remaining entertaining. Entering the 21st century, filmmakers such as Yilmaz Edogan have injected new vitality into comedy films through their works, and triggered audience reflection through profound social criticism and discussion of cultural conflicts. Turkish comedy films in the new era continue to use traditional religious aesthetics, such as the conflict between religion and modern society shown in "The Female Leader", and the harmony between religions through the mutual respect and understanding of people from different religious backgrounds. coexistence. At the same time, the film also incorporates depictions of the cultural characteristics of southeastern Turkey, such as handicrafts and traditional food, which increases the cultural connotation of the film. In addition, Turkish comedy films have also made innovations in business strategies, including the use of advertising and marketing elements. Celebrity strategy and plot marketing have become important means to attract audiences, while the use of music and schedule selection also play a key role in the commercial success of the film. In particular, the use of social media provides a new platform for film promotion and enhances interaction with the audience. Finally, this article critically reflects on the current development trends and social functions of Turkish comedy films. Although some high-grossing comedy films may have limitations in terms of artistic exploration and social depth, they still reflect the preferences and social and cultural perceptions of Turkish audiences to a certain extent. At the same time, Turkish comedy films still have important social value and cultural significance in their representation of family themes during cultural and religious festivals.

Overall, the development history of Turkish comedy films is diverse and rich. It not only brings laughter to the audience, but also inspires the audience to think deeply about society, culture and life.
