唐宋之际贬谪风气盛行，贬谪文学兴盛。贬官区域的南移使岭南成为重要谪官地，此时，恰逢岭南进入其文化发展成熟阶段。岭南贬谪文学由此成为一支独特的文化现象。岭南贬谪诗作，受当地独特的历史、地理、政治文化因素影响，呈现出“对岭南文化的猎奇心理”、“闲淡中见牢骚”两点共性。按具体诗作对这两点共性的不同表达方式，又可细分为“位卑未敢忘忧国”型、“穷则独善其身”型及其他类型三种贬谪诗作。这些贬谪诗词的共性，构成了唐宋岭南贬谪诗词的主要特征；而诗作的具体分类，又反映了唐宋文人的处境与心态的变化因素；但唐宋岭南贬谪诗词最大的意义却在于，为贬谪文人的个人文学造诣与岭南本土文学文化的长远发展做出里程碑式的贡献。

As banishment of civil officials had been prevalent in Tang and Song Dynasties, the literature of the banished flourished. With the major area for relegating demoted officials moved southward, Lingnan became an important place of relegation. Just at the same time, Lingnan culture grew into its mature period. As a result, the literature of the banished in Lingnan developed rapidly as a special cultural thing. Influenced by the unique factors of history, geography and politics in Lingnan, poetry of the banished in Lingnan showed two features in common, one was the curiosity to Lingnan culture, the other is showing leisure feelings as well as obscure complaints. The poetries can also be classified into three categories according to their characteristics of the way to show two common features. First is “Dare not forget to concern about the country despite being banished”; second is “To seek for self-development in their banished hard time”; third is that a few unusual cases. To sum up, two common features above were the major features of the poetries of the banished in Lingnan in Tang and Song Dynasties, and those three categories could reflect changes of the banished civil officials’ psychology and their real social position. What’s more, the poetries of the banished in Lingnan in Tang and Song Dynasties did make an essential contribution to their own literary creating and the development of Lingnan local culture.
