《霸王别姬》是文学改编成电影的经典之作，融合了精英文化与大众文化，在“视觉消费”发达的经济时代具有标杆式意义。本文从《霸王别姬》小说文本与影视作品入手，采用文本精读与对比研究法，通过呈现两者在叙事、主题、风格方面的异同，深入探讨电影相对于小说呈现出的强烈戏剧色彩和历史文化反思，揭示立足于小说与电影创作者双方个人色彩下的美学转换与增值，进而浅要分析《霸王别姬》在改编上对于商业化时代下电影从小说借力实现生产的借鉴意义。

“Farewell to My Concubine” is a classic work of adapting a literature text into a movie, representing the fusion of elite culture and popular culture, baring the benchmark significance in this economic era that favoring “visual consumption”. This thesis starts from the novel text and film works of “Farewell to My Concubine”, applying intensive reading and comparative analysis method. Through presenting the similarities and differences of these two forms from the perspective of narrative, theme and style, this thesis aims at giving an in-depth discussion on the strong dramatic atmosphere and historical and cultural reflection, revealing the aesthetic transformation and appreciation based on the individual styles of the novel and film creators respectively. It further analyzes the referential significance of how adapted movies can benefit from the novel to achieve the purpose of production under this commercialism era, with the “Farewell to My Concubine” as the analyzing case.
