Detrended Fluctuations Analysis (DFA)
has been applied to analyze
the temperature characteristics
of
192 stations over
China. We find that
all temperature records have long-
term memory. And
there exist a close
relationship between
the scaling exponent and the
station location.
Sequences with the extreme contain not only long-range
correlated characteristics, also
the cumulative results of long-range
memory result in
the sequences
’
extreme events. The removing
of sequences extreme will
weaken
its long-range memory
, and
removing more than 50% of the data
will destroy its long-range memory
.
