《中庸》第十二章曰：“君子之道费而隐。”后世对这句话的理解有较大分歧，主要分为以下两种：一、汉代郑玄认为：“费犹佹也，道不费则仕。”二、宋代朱熹曰：“费，用之广也。隐，体之微也。”句意分歧聚焦于对“费”的理解，进而涉及该句的段落划分、归属的问题，与今之最常见的通行本《中庸》（即朱熹《中庸章句集注》本）中该句是否归章有误密切相关。本文具体分析郑玄、朱熹二人对“费”的理解，阐述郑朱对“君子之道费而隐”的段落划分和义理诠释之差异，结合朱彬、孙希旦、郭嵩焘三位清代学者对此问题的看法，探析“君子之道费而隐”的上下两段内涵及《中庸》全文行文内在的逻辑理路，个人重新阐释对“君子之道费而隐”一句的段落划分问题的看法，试在研析相关内容的基础上推寻《中庸》“君子之道费而隐”章句归属的原初相貌和语义内涵，还原早期文献《中庸》的思想意蕴，力图揭示经典文本的生成与儒家思想变迁的互动关系。

Chapter 12 of The Doctrine Of The Mean says: "The way of the gentleman is Fei and Yin." Later generations have divergent interpretations of this statement, which are mainly divided into the following two kinds: First, Zheng Xuan of the Han Dynasty thought, "Fei is just like Gui, and if the way to be an official is in line with gentleman's philosophy, then go for it." Secondly, Zhu Xi of the Song Dynasty said, "Fei, the use of the broad. The Yin, the kernel of the micro." The disagreement over the meaning of the sentence focuses on the understanding of "fei", which in turn involves the question of the division of the sentence into paragraphs and its attribution, and is closely related to the question of whether the sentence is incorrectly attributed to the chapter in the most common version of The Doctrine Of The Mean (i.e. Zhu Xi's book The Doctrine Of The Mean Zhan Jue Ji Zhu) today. This paper analyses the understanding of "fei" by Zheng Xuan and Zhu Xi, explains the differences in the division of the passage and the interpretation of the meaning of "the way of the gentleman is fei and Yin" by Zheng and Zhu, and discusses the views of three Qing Dynasty scholars, Zhu Bin, Sun Xidan and Guo Songtao, on this issue. In this paper, we explore the connotation of the upper and lower paragraphs of "the way of the gentleman is Fei and Yin" the logic of the entire text of The Doctrine Of The Mean, and personally re-explain our views on the division of the paragraphs of the phrase "the way of the gentleman is Fei and Yin" of The Doctrine Of The Mean. In this paper, I will try to find the original appearance and semantic connotation of the chapter and sentence "the way of the gentleman is Fei and Yin", and restore the ideological meaning of the early document The Doctrine Of The Mean.It seeks to reveal the interaction between the production of classical texts and the changes in Confucianism.
