Purpose: This paper aims to understand the status quo of mental health literacy of high-level female basketball players in colleges and universities, improve their mental health literacy, and provide reference for the formulation of training programs, selection of talents and improvement of sports performance of high-level basketball players. Methods: The objects of this study are high-level women basketball players from different universities, and 85 women basketball players from Beijing Normal University, Peking University, Central South University, Shanxi Normal University, Qinghai Normal University and Shanxi University of Finance and Economics are selected as the research objects.The methods of literature, questionnaire and mathematical statistics were adopted. General Information Questionnaire, Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS), and Spss26.0 were used for investigation and analysis. Results: There were significant differences in mental health literacy among all grades (p<0.001). The mental health literacy score of elite athletes was the lowest, that of second-level athletes was the highest, and that of first-level athletes was the second. There was a correlation between mental health literacy and training years (p<0.001). The average value of mental health literacy for training years more than 10 years was the lowest, and the average value of mental health literacy for training years 4-6 years was the highest. There is a significant difference between women basketball players who have received psychological skills training and those who have not (p < 0.001). Psychological literacy is related to whether they have participated in psychological training, and those who have not participated in psychological skills training are higher than the average of those who have participated in psychological skills training. Conclusion: The level of mental health literacy of athletes with higher sports grade, longer training years and participating in mental skills training is obviously higher. |
