“师道尊严”作为我国传统教育理念中的核心价值目标之一对我国传统教育产生了深远的影响，然而“师道尊严”并非完全是对教师的绝对权威的强调，同时也是对教师教育信仰与价值标准严格要求。世俗的要求学生对教师的绝对尊重和服从，是异化和失真的“师道尊严”，师生关系的民主与平等应该得到理解与彰显。同时必须认识到师生的平等只能是“人格意义上”的平等。弘扬“师道尊严”必须以教师的权威为基础，充分尊重学生的民主与平等，在共通的教育信仰的指引下达到精神信念的一致，这需要师生的共同努力。
