本文利用中国居民收入调查数据库(CHIP)数据研究教育对代际收入流动性的影响,通过在通常的代际收入弹性模型中加入受教育年限以及子代受教育年限和父代收入交互项,分析代际收入弹性随教育水平提高的变化情况。研究发现:教育能提高子代的收入水平,能够改善代际收入流动性。随受教育年限的增加,代际收入流动性改善,且作为高质量、专业化的高等教育对于降低代际收入弹性的作用比高中教育更大、更显著。因此,个体应提高努力程度以获得较高的教育入学资格,家庭应根据子女的情况选择最优的人力资本投资水平以提高子女的受教育程度,政府应增加公共教育投入以弥补家庭的收入约束,最终共同实现代际收入流动性的提高。
外文摘要:
This paper, by using Chinese household income survey database (CHIP), analyses the influence of education on intergenerational income mobility. We put child’s education and interaction term of the child’s education and father’s income into the classic intergenerational income elasticity model. It is found that education can increase the income of children and improve the mobility of intergenerational income. The more education accepted, the higher intergenerational income mobility is. And the effect of tertiary education, which is high-quality and professional, on decreasing intergenerational income mobility is greater compared with secondary education. Therefore, the individual should increase the degree of efforts in order to obtain higher education entrance qualification, family should choose children's optimal level of human capital investment according to their situation to improve their children's level of education, and the government should increase public education investment to make up for the low income of the family. And the three parties cooperate together to finally realize the improvement of intergenerational income mobility.
