尽管中国正在接收更多的留学生,但其教育计划对留学生群体毕业后就业影响的研究尚存不足。诚然,国际教育的研究很广泛,但是,柬埔寨留学生就业能力自我认知的学术知识仍然很少。因此,本论文旨在确柬埔寨留学生的就业能力自我认知之间的关系,并探讨其留学经历如何影响他们对未来就业能力的看法。采用顺序混合法设计,对357名柬埔寨留学生进行了线定量数据采集,并用8名被选学生的定性数据对定量结果进行了解释。本研究利用定量数据进行相关的统计检验,以确定变量之间的相关性和差异,同时根据内容分析的原则对定性数据进行分析,以广泛解释定量结果。综合结果显示,有大量证据证实,国际经验使柬埔寨学生获得了就业能力。尽管如此,可感知的就业能力不仅取决于具有国际经验背景,还取决于劳动力市场状况、对特定技能的需求、学生的职业网人脉和能力等其他因素。本研究拟为大学和未来的留学生提供了实用的建议、同时也为留学生就业能力的未来研究提供了指导。
外文摘要:
Despite the fact that China is hosting a greater number of international students, inadequate research has been conducted to assess the impacts of its educational programs on the post-graduation employment of its international student population. It is true that international education has been extensively explored; however, the scholarly knowledge on self-perceived employability among Cambodian international students remains rare. Therefore, the thesis intended to determine the extent to which the relationship exists between the international experience in China and the self-perceived employability of Cambodian international students, and explore the ways in which the experience impacted their view toward their future employability. An explanatory sequential mixed method design was employed, with the initial online collection of quantitative data from 357 Cambodian students who were studying in China, and then explaining the quantitative findings with qualitative data gathered from eight purposively selected informants. The study utilized quantitative data for relevant statistical tests in order to determine the correlations and differences among variables, while qualitative data was analyzed, following the principle of content analysis, to meticulously explain the quantitative findings. The integrated results revealed substantial evidence confirming that the international experience has given Cambodian students credits to their employability. Notwithstanding, the perceived employability was not only determined by the international experience, but also other crucial factors such as labour market condition, demand for particular skills, students’ networks and their ability. The study offers practical recommendations to universities and future students, while directions for future research on the international students’ employability are suggested.
