This paper seeks to investigate the influence of family dynamics on the academic performance of middle school students. A central aspect of family dynamics is the parent-child relationship, which denotes the level of intimacy between parents and their children. The study examines how parent-child relationships impact students' academic performance across five indicators. Findings suggest that positive parent-child relationships have a favorable effect on academic achievement, with female students demonstrating a greater propensity for parental communication. Mechanism analysis reveals that students with stronger parent-child bonds exhibit higher levels of proactive parental engagement with the school, and this dynamic influences student academic performance through this avenue. The conclusions drawn in this paper hold significant theoretical value and practical implications for advancing family education and fostering adolescent academic achievement. |
