In his first book, Shakespeare and his critic Brandes, Shestov devoted a lot to analyzing Shakespearean Julius Caesar and gave a unique explanation different from Georg Brandes. It is noteworthy that Shestov came back to Julius Caesar some years later. Here is given an attempt to focus upon Shestov’s interpretation of the Shakespearean play, trying to make clear the relationship between Shestov and Shakespeare. Shestov's interpretations of Julius Caesar will be presented carefully. They must come out of his philosophical thinking, but his philosophy underwent a noteworthy change during this time. Therefore, the problem of Nietzschean turn of Shestov's thought finally need to be discussed in the light of his different interpretations of Shakespearean Julius Caesar.
