本文通过借鉴文学翻译中的“信、达、雅”标准论和“翻译层次论”，采用比较法，以《聊斋志异》的翟理斯英译本和黄友义英译本为例，以女性形象的塑造为切入点，从微观上对比分析了两个译本在“描写性、叙述性、议论性”的词、句、段落等翻译上存在的异同，并从宏观的角度分析了两个译本存在差异的原因，从而丰富了《聊斋志异》英译研究的视角和中国古典文学英译理论。

This thesis , regarding the “translation of female images” as point cut, applies the literature translation theory of “faithful , expressive, elegant ”and “ translation level” to microcosmically compare the different translation in the words and sentences of description , narration and criticism in Giles’s and Huang’s version of Liao Zhai Tales , and broadly analyzes the reasons of these difference. As a result, the thesis enriched the research perspective of English translation of Liao Zhai tales and the translation theories of Chinese classical literature.
