背景:以往的研究表明嗅觉信息可以调节面部表情的加工,但对嗅觉效价与面部表情效价之间的交互作用的研究较少。先前研究多采用意识上层面的范式,本研究则采用意识下层面的眼间抑制范式。目的:本研究进行了一项关于不同嗅效价对面部表情加工的影响的实验,在眼间抑制范式中以面部表情图片为目标刺激,引入不同嗅效价的气味。方法:选取年龄18 ~ 26岁的女性40例(Mage = 21.73, SDage = 2.207)进行分析。采用眼间抑制范式的范式,探讨不同效价的嗅觉信息是否能调节意识下的表情效价加工。被试通过视觉和嗅觉通道获取信息,嗅觉材料采用吲哚溶液和柠檬醛溶液,视觉材料采用恐惧、中性和高兴三种面部表情的图片。结果:分析结果表明,被试在开始和结束时看不到面部表情的图片,目标刺激突破动态噪声进入意识水平,嗅觉效价和面孔效价在实验的第二阶段中有显著的交互作用;尤其是当被试暴露在与意识加工的表情效价不匹配的气味中时,抑制时间显著延长。结论:这种显著的交互作用表明,气味效价被无意识地纳入了先前看不见的面孔所表达的情绪,从而影响了被试对不同面孔的最终抑制时间。

Background: Previous studies have shown that olfactory information can modulate the processing of facial expressions, while few studies have been conducted on the interaction between olfactory valence and facial expression valence. Also, most previous studies adopted the consciousness level paradigm, and this study used the interocular suppression paradigm on the unconsciousness level. Purposes: This study employed one experiment on the effect of different olfactory valence on the processing of facial expressions, and pictures of facial expressions were set as the target stimulus in the interocular suppression paradigm and brought the odors with different olfactory valence in. Methods: A total of 40 female participants ranging in age from 18 to 26 were included in the analysis (Mage = 21.73, SDage = 2.207). And the method of interocular suppression paradigm was adopted to explore whether olfactory information with different valences could modulate the valence processing of facial expressions under the consciousness. Participants got information from both visual and olfactory channels, the olfactory materials adopted indole solution and citral solution, and the visual materials adopted pictures with three facial expressions: fearful, neutral, and happy. Results: The analysis results showed that participants could not see the pictures of facial expressions at the beginning and the end the target stimulus broke through dynamic noise into the consciousness level, olfaction valence and face valence had a significant interaction in the second session of the experiment, specifically when the participants were exposed to odors not matched with the facial expressions valence processed under the consciousness, suppression time was significantly lengthened. Conclusion: This apparent interaction suggested that odor valence had been unconsciously incorporated into the emotions expressed by the previously invisible face, thus influencing the participants' final suppression time to different faces.
