现代性导致了传统与现代的二分。在现代社会,一方面,以科学知识为代表的专业知识发挥着不可替代的作用;另一方面,生活世界已经被专业知识“殖民化”了。究其根源,首先在于科学主义造成了主观与客观、事实与价值、科学知识与人文知识等的截然二分,科学主义在根本上排斥知识和文化的多样性,二元论或机械论世界观根本解释不了人的生命的灵动和意识的丰富内容。其次在于现代社会中的经济、政治、知识等领域相对独立和自治,这些领域纷纷寻求一种世俗的合理化基础。知识的专业化愈演愈烈,总体上表现为知识的三分法,即自然知识、社会知识、人文知识等。于是,对科学、道德、艺术等价值领域的研究也逐步成为专家的事情,专家们只从一个角度来考察它们中的某个领域,不同的文化领域便成为专门的研究对象,专业知识也丧失了日常话语中所蕴含的整体统一性。生活世界已经被专业知识“殖民化”,风险社会也由此而产生。面对欧洲科学的问题与“危机”,许多现代西方哲学家不约而同地向现实生活世界回归,从而也实现了现代哲学视野的根本转换,这一趋向在知识论的领域则表现为专业知识的“祛魅”和日常知识意义的凸显。 在现代社会,日常知识具有重要作用和意义。首先,日常知识有助于克服现代教育的危机。现代教育越来越忽视和摒弃人文教育与人文关怀这一古老的传统,教育的价值理念由价值理性转变为工具理性;现代教育越来越从满足世俗需求出发,来设置教育体系与结构,作为专业知识产生的重要场所的学校,变得越来越像“加工厂”,学生则成为生产的“产品”;现代教育培养了许多具有丰富的专业知识和专业技能,但是在人格、德性与精神等方面有缺陷的“单面人”。在现代教育中,应该充分发掘本土文化所蕴含的人文精神,通过对本土知识的学习与传播,增强个体之间的文化认同,丰富个体的精神世界、人文世界。其次,日常知识有利于保持知识和文化的多样性。对以科学知识为代表的专业知识而言,也可以从日常知识身上找到一个参照系,来反观自身的发展。专业知识和日常知识的地位应该是平等的,专业知识在知识家族中的称雄称霸的时代应该结束。专业知识也应该具有更多的人文关怀,始终关切着人的生存与发展,体现人的生命意义和生活意义。最后,日常知识有益于弘扬人文精神和深化人文教育。在现代社会中,作为一种“地方性知识”的日常知识具有丰富的文化价值,体现了科学与人文之间的互融。总的看来,作为“地方性知识”的日常知识,对弘扬民族文化精神、增强民族认同感,保持文化的多元性等都具有十分重大的意义。

Modernity results in a separation between traditional society and modern society. On one hand, expert-knowledge typed with scientific knowledge plays an important role in modern society; on the other hand, life-world has been colonized by expert-knowledge. The reason roots in two aspects, one is the dualism of subjectivity and objectivity, facts and values, science and humanity etc; the other is that autocephaly of economy, politics and knowledge domains in modern society, which seek a mundane rationalization foundation. Scientism radically excludes the diversity of knowledge and culture. Dualism and Mechanism can’t explain the complexity of life and the richness of consciousness. The specialization of knowledge increasingly induces the division of natural knowledge, societal knowledge and humanistic knowledge etc. Therefore, the research in science, morality and art becomes special affairs of experts. Experts often study one field from some scope, and then different cultural fields have become special object. Expert-knowledge has been short of the oneness in everyday discourse. Life-world has been colonized by expert-knowledge, so risk-society becomes into being. In the face of Science’s crisis in Europe, many western philosophers spontaneously regress life-world, which realizes the basic conversion in the scope of modern philosophy and manifests the disenchantment of expert-knowledge and displays the meaning of every-knowledge in epistemological fields. In modern society, everyday-knowledge has an important effect and signification. Firstly, everyday-knowledge helps to overcome the crisis of modern education. Modern education increasingly ignores and spurns an age-old tradition of humanistic education and humanistic solicitude. The value idea of modern education has been transformed from value rationality into instrument rationality. Modern education progressively sets up educational system and construction for the sake of meeting mundane requirement. The school as an important place of producing expert-knowledge becomes more and more like processing manufactory, so that the students have become the procreative products. Modern education cultivates many one- dimension people who have possessed a large number of expert-knowledge and professional skills, but who have many defectives in personality, morality and mind. In modern education, we should fully excavate the humanistic spirits of local culture, learn and promulgate local knowledge, enforce cultural self-identity among individuals, enrich individual spiritual world and humanity world. Secondly, everyday-knowledge is in favor of maintaining the diversity of knowledge and culture. As for expert-knowledge, everyday-knowledge provides with a frame of reference to reflect its development. Expert-knowledge and everyday-knowledge are equal. The age in which Expert-knowledge is a king of knowledge family should be over. Expert-knowledge should have much more humanistic solicitude, deeply concern the survival and development of human being all the time, and embody the meaning of human life. Finally, everyday-knowledge is beneficial to promote humanity and deepen humanistic education. In modern society, everyday-knowledge as a local knowledge has abundant cultural values and embodies amalgamation between sciences and humanistic sciences. In a word, everyday-knowledge as a local knowledge plays a significant role in promoting national cultural spirits, in enforcing national self-identity, and in keeping cultural diversity.
