在日本近现代小说之中，猫作为人物形象的补充或对立频繁登场，拓展了文学的视野，丰富着作品的思想内涵。本论文运用“文学兽类学”的研究方法，以世界范围内猫的文学表现为背景，借鉴民俗学、心理学、宗教学、生物学等博物学意义上的猫性认知，以日本古代文学建立起来的猫的想象为前提，围绕日本近现代小说中猫与人双向互动的微妙关系，勾勒出文学在对猫的想象中所确立的猫的形象，以及在此基础上对于猫的观念化的表述，发掘猫想象背后对人类自身的隐性书写，对现代人与现代社会的深刻思考。 本论文共分为六个部分。绪论部分厘清本选题的研究对象的精确范围，并阐述研究立意，梳理国内外研究现状，确认研究目标、研究方法与研究计划。第一章“猫的文学追溯”，立足日本古代文学史，分析日本民间文学与古典文学对猫的想象，探究近现代猫想象的文学依据。第二章“猫的形象建构”，围绕猫与人的外部关系，从生活的观察者与文化的评论者、情感的寄托者与孤独的慰藉者、日常的守护者与内在的指引者三个方面来分析猫的身份，从猫对阴谋、爱情两个领域的介入来探讨猫的行动。第三章“猫的观念化表述”，围绕猫与人的内在关联，从女性身上的猫性与男性身上的猫性两个视角切入研究猫作为人类本能的原型意象所发挥的隐喻作用，从平凡世界中的危机、孤独空虚的精神状态、恶意与私欲的修罗场三个角度研究猫作为人类处境的符号化表达所具有的象征意义。第四章“猫的启发”，集中从为猫立言与以猫为鉴这两个角度切入，分析猫族书写对人类中心主义、人类关系等方面问题的揭示。结论部分则是对论文思路的总结。 通过研究，本文得出以下结论：古代文学中猫的想象反映了人对猫的认知，近现代小说中猫的形象与观念则反映了作者对人的认知：人们既看不清外部世界，也认不清内在自我。文学围绕人与猫外部与内在的联系，完成猫的形象建构与观念化表述，实际上是通过猫的言说、暗示和预警，道破仅仅凭借人类立场所无法发现的秘密，为人正确认识世界、客观反观自我提供了丰富的可能性。

As a major supplement or opposition to characters, cats frequently appear in modern and contemporary Japanese novels, which has expanded the way we look at literature and enriched the intensive mental connotation. Against the background of cats’ appearances in world literature and on the basis of cats’ images in ancient Japanese literature, this thesis applies the research approaches of “literature therology” , which borrowed the cognition of cat nature in natural history including the research results of folklore, psychology, religion, biology and so on, centers on the interactive subtle relationship between cats and humans, pictures the images of cats adapted from the imagination of cats in literature and the conceptive interpretations on cats, and uncovers the recessive representation about human ourselves and the profund thinking of modern human and society. This thesis is divided into six sections. The introduction decides the precise realm of study objects, explains the research ideas, discusses the present research results home and abroad, and confirms the research target, method and project. The first chapter “The Literature Tracing of Cats” rests on the history of ancient Japanese literature and analyzes the imagination of cats in Japanese folk and classical literature in order to explore the literature basis of the imagination of cats in modern and contemporary texts. The second chapter “The Constructions of Cats’ Images” analyses cats’ roles from three directions---the observer of humans’ life and the criticizer to humans’ culture, the carrier of humans’ emtion and the comfort of humans’ loneliness, the guardian of daily world and the guide to the inner world, and discusses the cats’ activities by researching the intervention of cats into areas of plots and love. The third chapter “The Conceptive Interpretations on Cats ” examines cats’metaphors as archetypal images of human instincts from two points of view . One is cat nature from women , the other is from men. It also investigates the symbolic purpose of cats which act in symbolic representations of human condition from three points of view---the first is the crisis of the common world, the second is the mental statement of loneliness and emptiness, and the last is the kill zone of hostility and personal desires. The forth chapter “The Inspiration from Cats” focuses on speaking for cats and following cats’ examples to analyse the revelations about anthropocentrism and human relations by cat writing. The conclusion summarizes the threads of the thesis. Through the study, the thseis draws conclusions as follows. The imagination on cats in ancient literature has reflected the human congnition about cats, while the images and concepts of cats in modern and contemporary novels reflect the authors’ congnition towards human beings. Humans could neither see the outer world clearly nor distinguish the inner themselves exactly. Focuing on the outer and inner relation between humans and cats, literature establishes the constructions of cats’ images and the conceptive interpretations on cats. In fact, It is through cats’ speaking , intimating and warning that does literature uncover the secrets humans could not find out from the standpoint of humans themselves, and provide the rich possibility of understanding the world and human itself exactly and objectly.
