儒、释、道思想资源在北魏社会并行,北魏并非学人所谓“未染清言之风”。通过墓志定型化,北魏权力高层在墓志书写中选择玄学名士形象,利用权力使之成为文化认同。其背后反映了北魏孝文帝欲继承汉晋传统,构建门阀社会,在文化上与南朝争夺正统地位,标榜政权合法性的意图。在孝文帝打造北魏门阀社会过程中,外戚出身,凭借军功跻身权力核心的弘农杨氏迎合了这一潮流。杨氏一族通过任职本乡、荣归故里、风光归葬等行为,在政治权力支持下构建“弘农华阴习仙里”郡望。杨氏两房支所经营中心均为中央,在墓志书写中选择玄学名士形象,迎合统治者喜好,从而稳固家族政治地位。北魏利用政治权力从上到下建构起以鲜卑贵族为核心的士族社会,以当世荣宦为标准划分门第。汉人大族积极经营社会关系网络,努力提高家族地位。而社会交往强化了对名士的认同,推动名士之风大盛。浮华的世风与门第的固化激化了社会矛盾,北魏因此走向分裂与灭亡。与南朝不同,北魏皇权强大,所构建的门阀社会乃是变形化的魏晋士族社会,士族具有官僚色彩。因用人需要,北魏也继承了秀孝和学校制度,寒门子弟能够凭借才学依附皇权得到晋升。“学优而仕”的观念得到广泛认同,才学取士和考试制度为科举制的到来奠定基础。
外文摘要:

The ideological resources of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism coexisted in the society of the Northern Wei Dynasty. And the Northern Wei was not the so-call “without Dark Studies”. Through the stereotype of the epitaphs, the ruling core of the Northern Wei choosed the image of celebrities who were keen on the Dark Studies and “Theoretical Talking” in the epitaph writing, and used political power to make it a cultural identity. It reflected the intention of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty to inherit the traditions of the Han and Jin Dynasties, build an aristocratic society, compete with the Southern Dynasty for orthodox in culture, and flaunt the legitimacy of the regime. In the process of emperor Xiaowen's creation of the Northern Wei Dynasty's aritocratic society, the Hongnong Yang family, who came from relatives and became the nobility by military merit, catered to this trend. The Yang family established the "Hongnong Huayin Xixianli" choronym with the support of political power through acts such as holding a post in the choronym, retiring to the choronym gloriously, and building the common graveyard. The two branches of the Yang family were both capital elites, and the celebrity image was also chosen in the epitaph to cater to the preferences of the ruler, for stabilizing the family's political status.

The Northern Wei Dynasty used political power to construct an aristocratic society centered on the Xianbei aristocracy from top to bottom. The Chinese (Han) powerful families actively managed the social network and strived to improve the status of the family. The social interaction had strengthened the recognition of celebrities and promoted the prevalence of celebrity style. The vanity of the society and the consolidation of the social class intensified social contradictions, and the Northern Wei Dynasty therefore split and perished. Different from the Southern Dynasties, the Northern Wei had strong imperial power, and the society was a deformed Wei-Jin aristocratic society, which the nobilities had the bureaucratic color. Due to the needs of national employment, the Northern Wei Dynasty also inherited Xiuxiao and the school system. The poor students were able to get promoted by virtue of their talents andlearning and attaching to the imperial power. The concept of “Xueyou and Shi” had been widely recognized. The meritocratic culture and examination system laid the foundation for the advent of the imperial examination system.
