民族精神是一个民族和国家的灵魂，是一个民族和一个国家赖以存在和发展的精神支柱。一个国家没有振奋的精神和高尚的品格，不可能屹立于世界强国之林。伴随着全球化的发展和改革开放的深入，今日的国人一边享受着因经济快速的发展而带来的丰富物质生活，同时也面临着全球化带来的精神冲击。中华民族要复兴，就必须加强弘扬和培育以爱国主义为核心的民族精神。民族精神是在历史中形成和发展的，弘扬和培育民族精神，历史教育肩负着重大的使命。本文主要采用问卷调查法和文献分析法收集相关数据和信息，以探究中学历史教育在培养民族精神方面的现状，发现其中的问题并针对存在的问题提出若干建议。文章主体分为四部分：第一部分：民族精神及其相关概念；第二部分：中学历史教育与民族精神培育的关系；第三部分：当前中学历史课程中民族精神培育存在的问题；第四部分：在历史教学中渗透民族精神方式的探讨——以“鸦片战争”为例。

National spirit is the soul of a nation and country, and it is also the nations’ spiritual prop for existence and development. A country without an inspiring spirit and lofty character can't stand on its own among the powers of the world. With the development of globalization and the deepening of reform and opening-up, Chinese people on the one hand enjoy their rich material life taken by rapid economic growth, on the other hand they faced with the mind crush brought by globalization. we must strengthen to carry forward and cultivate the national spirit with patriotism as the core to revive the Chinese nation. National spirit is formed in history and the development. Carrying forward and fostering national spirit, history education is shouldering the important mission.This paper mainly adopts questionnaire method and literature method to collect relevant data and information to explore the status quo of middle school history education in cultivating the national spirit and find the problems and put forward some Suggestions on the existing problems. The article’s main body is divided into four parts: part one, national spirit and its related concepts; part two: the relationship between history education in middle schools and the cultivation of national spirit; part three: The current problems existing in the high school history curriculum about the cultivation of national spirit; part four: penetrate the way of discussing national spirit in the teaching of history—take "The Opium War" for example.
