近年来，随着中国国际竞争力的提升，中国典籍在国外的传播表现出多层次多方面的特点。中国典籍能否为外国读者所接受并形成一定的影响力的一个重要因素就在于能否兼顾源语与目的语文化的特点。相比于其他类型文本的翻译，典籍翻译需译者运用更多的补偿策略使隐含内容显化，再现原文文化内涵。

根据对文本的分析：一、由于典籍文本本身的特点，在《论语》原文中主语以及宾语大都省略，在翻译时，译者需要对文本的结构和衔接方式进行明晰化。二、对目的文本受众的语言能力和对原文本文化的熟悉程度做一个全面的分析。对中国文化和儒家思想了解不多的西方人来说，要理解并接受含有大量特定中国文化元素的《论语》，有一定的障碍。所以，在翻译《论语》时,辜鸿铭译文文本内容更加注重使第人称明晰化以实现作者与读者的有效交流以传播儒家思想，并将其中隐含的相关中国文化背景以及知识以外国读者熟悉的方式，按照其思维方式明晰化。三、为了达到从整体上把握中华典籍并展示其精髓，译者需要使特定的文本信息，专有名词和术语等明晰化。基于贝彻的翻译理论结构，本文以辜鸿铭翻译的《论语》英译为例，探讨了明晰化策略在面向西方英语读者英译汉语经典文本中的应用。因此为了加强中译英典籍文类本的可读性，译者可以运用明晰化策略来增强原文作者与读者之间的有效交流，减少阅读者的理解困难，为促进文化国际传播提供一种可行方法。

In recent years, with the increasing of China’s international competitiveness, the dissemination of Chinese classics abroad is multi-level and multifaceted. Whether Chinese classics can be accepted by foreign readers and form a certain influence depends on whether they can give consideration to both the cultural characteristics of source language and the target language. The translation of Chinese classic requires the translator to adopt more compensation strategies to make the implicit content manifest and reproduce the cultural connotation of the original text in contrast with other kinds of translation.

According to the analysis of the source text and the target text: (1) Due to the features of the classic texts subjects and objects are mostly omitted in the original text of The Analects of Confucius, so translators need to clarify the structure and cohesion of the text in translation. (2) The translator has made a comprehensive analysis of the language ability of the target text audience and their familiarity with the source language culture. For western non-experts who do not know much about Chinese culture and Confucianism, there are certain obstacles in understanding and accepting the Analects of Confucius, which contains a large number of specific elements of Chinese culture. Therefore, when translating The Analects of Confucius, Gu Hongming paid more attention to clarifying the personal pronoun to make the exchange between the author and addressee effectively to spread Confucianism, and clarified the relevant Chinese cultural background and knowledge implied in the translation in a way familiar to foreign readers according to their way of thinking. (3) In order to grasp Chinese classics and show their essence on the whole, the translator needs to make specific textual information, proper names and terms clear. Based on the structure of Becher’s translation theory, this paper takes Gu Hongming’s Translation of The Analects of Confucius as an example to explore the application of the explicitation in the translation of the Classic Chinese text for Western English readers. Therefore, in order to enhance the readability of Chinese-English classic texts, the translator can use the explicitation strategy to enhance the effective communication between the author of the original text and readers, reduce readers’ understanding difficulties, and promote the international dissemination of culture.
