There are a lot of vague and grotesque death imaginations in the poems of Duo Duo, a contemporary Chinese poet. From the perspective of the connotation of social history, Duo Duo's death imagination contains despair of reality, resistance to society, and reflection on history. From the perspective of artistic aesthetic value, the death imagination in poetry embodies the beauty of tragedy and suffering, the beauty of strangeness and weirdness, and the beauty of disillusionment and detachment. Analyzing the imagination of death in Duo Duo’s poems from the perspective of spiritual psychology, we can interpret it from three aspects: extreme aesthetic experience, death instinct display, and the human nature behind the "subconscious." Growing up in a special historical period, Duo Duo experienced the absurdity of the real environment and the emptiness of human destiny, but he still persistently explored the value of life through the way of death imagination, and leads readers to re-examine and cherish their precious life that was only once.
