Feminist’s movement, as one of the social movements that rose in an all-round way after World War II, mobilized women to protect their rights and interests and build a gender-equal society around the world. And in the political, economic, social and cultural levels have been unprecedented achievements.South Korea as Oriental Confucian culture deeply influenced by country, in the male-dominated world of the feudal society, women group is in a state of controlled depressed for a long time, women's rights has failed to obtain the safeguard of the laws and institutions.

After the end of World War II, Korean women began to explore their own way of development under the rapidly changing social background at home and abroad. From the Women's National Party in the early days of the nation, to the establishment of the Korea National Council of Women in the period of the authoritative government, and then to the establishment of the Korean Women's Associations United in the period of the democratization movement, women's organizations constantly realized the gender exploitation that Korean women endured from the social movement, and gradually changed from auxiliary politics to women's movement, striving to carry out independent women's movement. The end of the dictatorship in 1987 brought new changes to both Korean society and the women's movement. With the awakening of female consciousness and the introduction of postmodernism, the female movement gradually formed a diversion according to the activity goal and content, and formed different female organizations. In terms of social movements, since the 1990s, the women's movement has focused on anti-sexual violence and anti-sex trafficking movement activities, so that sexual violence is no longer a taboo word in Korean society.System of laws and regulations, the abolition of the family registry system, crime of abortion, protect women's human rights and reproductive freedom. And supported the international women's movement with the "comfort women" human rights issue, the "MeToo" movement and participation in various international conferences.

After decades of development, the Korean feminist's movement has developed characteristics such as being combined with other social movements, having a strong influence from political forces, Christian organizations, and international feminist's movements, as well as nationalism and radicalism tendencies, and shortcomings such as a lack of vitality in the new stage and narrow nationalism. The Korean political, economic, social  cultural, and Christian factors have influenced the formation of such characteristics and shortcomings in the feminist's movement. Among them, patriarchal ideology, capitalist exploitation, and the combination of patriarchy and authoritarianism, and the chaos of the Korean cultural system are the fundamental reasons why Korean women are subjected to gender exploitation. As China, which is part of the East Asian cultural circle, has a similar yet different social environment to Korea. The development process, achievements, and increasingly radical tendencies of the contemporary Korean feminist's movement provide valuable lessons and reference for China to explore how to handle gender relations.
