会话分析是萨克斯、谢格洛夫等人基于民俗学方法论于20世纪60年代开创的理论。会话分析学派致力于利用常识理解分析自然真实的会话中交际者的言语和行为，进而揭示会话中的语言特征和交际者组织会话活动的方法。
近几年，国内有较多研究者对国内外的电视谈话节目的会话结构进行了比较研究，但少有人探讨主持人与嘉宾的交流方式对节目会话结构的影响。本文选取《吉米今夜秀》作为研究语料，搜集线下节目（演播室录制）和线上节目（远程连线）各十期，运用会话分析理论，从节目的开端、主体和结尾三部分的特点着手，对线上节目和线下节目的整体结构进行对比分析，并从微观层面对节目主体的同时言语现象进行定量和定性分析。本研究发现，受现场观众、空间距离、线上沟通不便等因素影响，线上节目和线下节目的会话结构存在差异。线上节目中相比较线下节目呈现出以下特点：在开端部分缺少互动性，主体部分话题引入方式相同，但主持人打断次数少且成功率低、反馈次数多，表现出积极倾听但略显被动的特点，结尾部分主持人为预防突发事故，可能会使用言语型前置结束序列与结束序列相结合的方式结束采访。

Conversation analysis is proposed by Harvey Sacks, Emanuel Schegloff, and others in the 1960s based on ethnomethodology. Conversation analysis school is committed to analyzing interactors’ speech and behaviors in natural and real conversations by using commonsense knowledge to reveal the linguistic features of conversations and the ways in which interactors organize interactions. 
In recent years, many domestic researchers have conducted comparative studies on the conversational structure of TV talk shows at home and abroad, but few have explored the influence of the communication mode between the host and guests on the conversational structure of TV talk shows. In this thesis, the late-night entertainment talk program The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is selected as the research corpus, and ten offline performances (studio video recording) and ten online performances (remote communication) are collected. At the macro level, the overall structural organization of online and offline performances is compared and analyzed by using conversation analysis theory focusing on the characteristics of the opening, main body, and closing. It also makes quantitative and qualitative analyses of the simultaneous speech phenomena in the main body at the micro level. This study finds that the conversational structure of online and offline performances is different due to the influence of live audience, space distance, inconvenience of online communication, and other factors. Compared with offline performances, online performances show the following characteristics: In the opening part, there is a lack of interaction. In the main body, the topic introduction method is the same, but the host interrupts fewer times, has a lower success rate, and gives more feedback, showing the characteristics of active listening but slightly passive. In the closing part, the host tends to use a combination of verbal pre-closing sequence and closing sequence to prevent accidents.
