在校园环境中，主广场作为校园外部交往中的核心空间，在展示校园特色，促进行为交往方面起着重要作用。在高校扩招、校区扩建、改建的大背景下，怎样使校园主广场发挥其作为核心空间的作用，体现有的文化特征是一个值得思索的问题。在本文中，笔者以北京地区为例，首先选取有代表性的高校，对其主广场进行实地调研，总结当前高校主广场设计的现状与问题，特别是关于校园文化表达方面的问题。综合运用景观设计学、环境行为学等理论，分析高校主广场的设计理论和实际应用，界定主广场的定义，分析其主要功能，和关键的构成要素，并对缺乏人性化设计的主广场设计提出可能的改进方法与建议，强度校园文化表达在主广场设计中的重要作用，结合中外设计案例，提出具有可行性的设计原则，从设计思路、色彩材质等方面进行分析。希望对于北京未来的高校主广场设计实践起到一定的借鉴帮助作用。

The main square is one of the most enssential part of campus environment space, which is the key to display characteristics of campus, stimulate behaviors and comminication as well. Under the background of enrollment expansion and campus reconstruction, how to make the campus main square play its role as a core space, reflect some cultural characteristics is a question to ponder. In this article, we take Beijing area for example, select some of the representative universities to investigation, then summarized the current problems of main square design.We especially pay attention to the expression of campus culture in square design. After the field research,we make an inntegrated use of landscape design and environment behavior theory, in order to analysis the main square in design theory and practical application, including the defination, and its main function, and the key constituent elements, and the lack of humanized design for the main square design.Finally we give possible improving methods and suggestions based on some Chinese and foreign design cases, we’ll also put forward some feasible design principle, from the aspects of design, color, material and so on we just mentioned above .
