 RESEARCH ON THE CHEMISTRY CURRICULUM AND TEXTBOOKS OF SINGAPORE’S BASIC EDUCATION

课程及教材研究一直是教育者研究的一个重要方向。随着课程改革的深入,新课程实施中出现了一些问题值得思考。新加坡是东亚年轻的岛国,物质资源匮乏,却能发展成为当今世界发达国家,其教育理念、教育模式、课程体系、教材编写等都值得我们进行深入研究和剖析。通过对新加坡课程模式及教材的分析,找出其优点,对于完善我国的新课程体系、完善我国教科书的编写有着重要的借鉴意义。并而对新加坡课程及教材的分析,既可以为后续研究提供一种研究模式,也可以丰富国外教育比较研究的资料。因此,对新加坡基础教育的课程及教材研究具有重要的理论和实践意义。本研究主要由六个部分组成。第一部分是问题的提出,阐述了本研究的背景和意义,并对已有研究进行了深入的剖析,找出了已有研究的不足之处。第二部分根据研究背景与研究现状提出了研究的任务和问题,并根据研究目的设计了研究方法、研究模型、定量研究分析模型以及定量研究分析工具。第三部分是对新加坡基础教育化学课程进行分析。首先分析了新加坡的教育制度和课程体系,找出了O-level化学课程标准、O-level科学化学课程标准、N(A)-level科学化学课程标准和N(T)-level科学课程标准作为研究对象。然后对这四本课程标准进行深入分析,用定性的方法分析了课程理念、课程目标和课程评价方式,用定性定量相结合的方法分析了课程内容。最后根据分析的结果找出了新加坡化学课程的特点。第四部分是对新加坡基础教育化学教材进行分析。首先整理了新加坡的化学教材的出版情况,找出了与四本课程标准对应的《Chemistry Matters》、《Discover Chemistry》、《Science Chemistry》和《Science Expression》这四本教材作为研究对象。然后对这四本教材进行深入分析,用定性的方法分析了教材的结构顺序,用定性定量相结合的方法分析了教材的内容选取和呈现方式。最后根据分析的结果找出了新加坡化学教材的特点。第五部分是针对新加坡基础教育课程及教材的特点,提出对我国课程改革和教材编写的六条启示:课程设置可以更多元化,丰富不同难度的教材种类;更加关注公民教育,提高学生的科学素养;注重化学研究方法,在原理的视角下进行物质性质的学习;完善课程标准及教材的形式,丰富教材栏目;教材注重知识衔接,完善概念图;评价方式需要改革,使评价形式多元化。最后得出了研究结论,找出了研究的不足之处,并对未来的研究提出了自己的展望。

Curriculum and textbooks research is an important research direction for a great many educators. With the development of curriculum reform, some issues emerge for thinking and discussing during the performance of the new curriculum. Singapore is an island younger nation in East Asia, lack of material resources, but it can develop into a developed country. Therefore, its educational ideal, educational methods, curriculum system, teaching textbooks are so worthy of our in-depth research and analysis. Through the analysis of Singapore’s curriculum system and textbools, we can obtain a lot of suggestions on our education. Besides, the research on the Singapore’s curriculum and textbooks can enrich not only the methods but also the contents of the comparative study of foreign educational materials. When all above is concerned, the research on the chemistry curriculum and textbooks of Singapore’s basic education has important theoretical and practical significance.This study consists of six parts. The first part is the introduction of this study. In this part, the background and significance of the study are explained and the previous studies are analyzed deeply to identify the shortcomings.The second part contains the tasks and issues of the study according to the study background and current status of researches. It also consists of the design of the research methods, research models, quantitative analysis models and quantitative analysis tools considering the purposes of this study.The third part is the analysis of the curriculum system of Singapore’s basic education. Firstly, by the analysis of Singapore’s education system and curriculum system, O-level chemistry syllabus, O-level science chemistry syllabus, N(A)-level science chemistry syllabus and N(T)-level science syllabus are selected for this study. Secondly, these four syllabus are analyzed deeply by using qualitative methods to analyze the curriculum ideals, curriculum objectives and assessment, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the curriculum content. Finally, according to the results of the analysis, the characteristics of Singapore chemistry courses are identified.The fourth part is the analysis of the textbooks of Singapore’s basic education. Firstly, by the collection of Singapore’s chemistry textbooks, Chemistry Matters, Discover Chemistry, Science Chemistry and Science Expression corresponding to the four syllabus are selected for this study. Secondly, these four textbooks are analyzed deeply by using qualitative methods to analyze the structure and sequence of the textbooks, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the content and exhibition of the textbooks. Finally, according to the results of the analysis, the characteristics of Singapore chemistry textbooks are identified. The fifth part is the suggestions for the curriculum reform and textbooks written in our country according to the characteristics of Singapore’s basic chemistry curriculum and textbooks.Finally come to the conclusion. Revelation and shortages of the whole research are given in order to improve future study.
