本报告以Swimming With Asian Sparks（《与亚洲商业大鲨共游》）第8-12章的汉译为基础，探讨了译文中出现的问题及应对策略。Swimming With Asian Sparks一书将亚洲各国的商业原则和商业模式等深入浅出地论述出来，书中虽少有难以理解的长难句和疑难词，但得出一份可读性高的译文并非易事。笔者将译文中出现的问题归纳为四方面，即拘泥形式、望文生义、见“木”不见“林”以及忽视汉语表达习惯。为解决以上问题，笔者提出三个翻译策略，即词义变通、省译和增译。词义变通是指不拘泥词语的基本含义，而是结合上下文，适度“施展拳脚”，恰如其分地表达词语含义。省译是指适当省译英文中冠词、代词和连词等，以及省译含义已融合在句子中的多余词语，从而避免译文累赘。增译是指适当增加原文字面上没体现、但意思上蕴含的信息，以达到增强译文准确性、连贯性和可读性的目的。恰当运用上述三种翻译策略，有助于增强译文的表达效果，从而在一定程度上提高翻译质量，使译文表达准确贴切、通顺自然。本报告包含四部分：第一部分是对翻译项目的整体介绍；第二部是对译文问题的归纳和分析；第三部分是解决策略；第四部分是项目总结。

This report is mainly about the problems and solutions in translating Swimming With Asian Sparks (Chapter 8-12) from English into Chinese.Swimming With Asian Sparks discusses business principles and models over Asian countries. There are few difficult long sentences and obscure words in this book, but delivering a high-quality translation is not an easy task. This report summarizes the problems in the translation version into four aspects, namely, adhering to formality, catching words meaning literally, translating words isolated and ignoring the Chinese idiomatic expression.To solve these problems, this report points out three effective translation strategies, namely, extension of word meaning, omission and amplification. Extension of word meaning refers to translating words based on the text instead of translating words isolated. Omission means omitting the “easy word” such as the article, pronoun, conjunction as well as omitting the “easy word” whose meaning has already been represented in the sentence. Amplification means adding necessary information to show the deeper meaning of the “easy word”, aiming to deliver accurate, coherent and idiomatic Chinese expression. Appropriately applying the above three translation strategies helps translators to make the translation version faithful and expressive.The report consists of four parts. Part One is a general introduction of the translation project. Part Two summarizes and analyzes the problems in the translation version. Part Three is the main body, pointing out three translation strategies to solve the problems mentioned in Part Two. Part Four provides a summary of the whole project.
