在英语作为第二语言(English as a Second Language, ESL)学习领域,尤其是词汇教学中,存在教学直观性弱的问题,难以激发学生学习的主观能动性,导致学生接受度低,学习效果折损。近年来,便携式移动设备及相关技术的发展使增强现实(AR)与人工智能(AI)成为课堂教学和学习的实用工具,为英语词汇教学现存弊端的解决提供了思路。

将手写文字识别技术与增强现实技术相结合,能够很好的提升教学工具的生动性、直观性,并使识别范围从印刷体扩展到手写体,从而降低了教师教具准备的门槛。本研究设计并开发基于人工智能手写识别与增强现实技术的英语学习应用,并在小学学段开展了一系列使用该应用程序作为教学工具的课堂活动的实证研究,以此验证手写识别结合增强现实技术的应用在实际英语课堂中可能产生的影响和作用。通过全程课堂录像、测试、师生访谈等方法收集相关数据及信息,分析得出:本应用在课堂中的使用对教师和学生都有积极影响——手写识别结合增强现实技术的应用的直观性可以激励学生更多地关注课堂,提高他们的学习主观能动性。与此同时,使用本应用的学生也展示出更好的学习表现,即课堂知识掌握水平上的提升。

外文摘要:

In the field of English as a Second Language (ESL), especially in vocabulary learning, there is a problem of weak teaching intuitiveness, difficult to stimulate students' subjective initiative, which leads to low students' acceptance, and bad influence the learning effect. In recent years, the development of portable mobile devices and related technologies has made Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) useful and practical tools for teaching and learning, which provide a possible solution to the existing drawbacks of ESL.

Combining Handwritten Character Recognition with Augmented Reality can greatly improve the vividness and intuitiveness of teaching tools, expand the recognition range from printed to handwritten, thereby reducing the threshold for teacher teaching aid preparation. This research designs and develops an English learning application based on Handwriting Character Recognition and Augmented Reality, and conducts a series of empirical studies in classroom activities using the application as a teaching tool in elementary school. The purpose of this research is to explore and verify the possible effects of these technologies in actual English classes, and their effects on students' English learning. The researcher collected relevant data and information through methods such as video recording, testing, and interviews. Through a series of analysis, it was concluded that the use of this application in the classroom has a positive impact on teachers and students. The intuitiveness of this application encourages students to pay more attention to the class and improve their learning initiative. At the same time, students who used this application also show better learning performance, that is, an improvement in classroom knowledge mastery.
