Ｄ•Ｈ•劳伦斯是２０世纪最独特，最有争议的作家，他的代表作《儿子与情人》是一部带有极强自传性质的小说。笔者将运用比较文学理论，对劳伦斯的《儿子与情人》在中国的流传和研究情况进行纵向的分阶段的梳理和考察，并观照各个不同时期所呈现的特点，探讨其历史、文化、心理等原因，并通过研究劳伦斯和中国当代作家苏童创作上的一些相似之处，探寻中英两国男作家在文学创作、精神分析法运用上的一些异同。
