随着现代教育技术在教学领域的广泛使用,多媒体和网络技术正日益成为人们关注的热点。对外汉语教学界也越来越注重多媒体教材和教学工具的开发,注重网络平台和网络资源的建设。笔者在美国进行中文教学的过程中深刻感受到了多媒体和网络技术的重要作用,意识到中文教师必须适应现代化的教学环境,积极利用一切资源,并且探索有效的教学手段与方式。有鉴于此,本文将美国私立中学的中文项目作为调查对象之一,了解其使用多媒体和网络技术的情况,从而为相关的教学或研究提供调查数据和情况分析。本文选择“聪明板”(互动型电子白板)这一典型的多媒体设备作为个案研究对象,注重在实践中总结其优缺点,采用了问卷调查,个案研究和个别访谈的方式,广泛征求所在学校(美国湖畔学校)中文项目中的学生与教师的意见,力争客观评价这一现代化教学技术与设备。 本文首先对“多媒体”“多媒体辅助教学”“ 美国中文课堂教学”“ 网络技术”“聪明板”等核心概念进行了界定与说明。在此基础上,参考相关理论和研究成果,分别对美国10所私立中学的中文项目和81位湖畔学校中文项目的学生进行了问卷调查,并且借助Microsoft Excel软件对调查结果进行了具体分析,从而总结出美国私立中学的中文课堂上使用现代技术手段的特点,以及湖畔学校的中文项目中使用聪明板的情况。然后,采用个案研究的方式分析了聪明板在实际教学中的应用方式,并且对湖畔学校的两位中文教师进行了个别访谈,从而对聪明板在中文课堂上的使用进行更为深入细致的研究。基于上述各个方面的研究结果,我们发现以电脑为媒介的各类现代技术手段在美国私立中文课堂上的应用较为普遍,教师们认为现代技术手段对于教学很有必要;聪明板是一种有效又有趣的教学工具,在教学上具有诸多优点以及相当的应用潜力。尽管目前仍有一些尚待改进之处,但鉴于它在辅助中文教学上的积极作用和其影响力与普及度有扩大的趋势,值得我们关注和研究。 本研究得出的数据和结论,不仅能够在一定程度上反映出当前美国私立中文使用多媒体与网络技术辅助中文教学的情况,也能够对聪明板这一教学工具与资源进行较为全面和客观的评价,还可为今后的相关研究提供有益的观点和依据,对多媒体教材和网络资源的完善提出建设性的意见,旨在为汉语国际教育与传播工作提供技术和方法上的支持。 关键词:美国中文课堂 多媒体辅助教学 网络技术 聪明板

With the modern education technology being widely used in the teaching field, multimedia and network technology has increasingly become the hotspot of interest. This holds true for the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, which pays more and more attention to the development of multimedia textbooks and teaching aids, and to the construction of network platform and resources. From my own teaching experiences in the U.S. high school, I have strongly felt the importance of multimedia and network technology. I realize that teachers of Chinese must adapt ourselves to the modernized environment of teaching, be proactive in using various resources, and keep exploring for more effective ways of teaching. Therefore, this paper chooses the Chinese programs in U.S. private schools to be part of the investigation and study. The purpose is to know how multimedia and network technology has been used there, and to provide the relevant teaching and study with statistics and analysis. This paper chooses SMART Board, an interactive electronic whiteboard and a typical multimedia facility, for case study. The focus is to find out the advantages and disadvantages of SMART Board from teaching practice, and to evaluate this modern facility/technology by doing questionnaires and interviews among the Chinese teachers and students at Lakeside School. This paper firstly defines and explains the core concepts of “Multimedia” “MCAI” “Classroom teaching in the U.S.” “Network technology” and “SMART Board.” After providing relevant theories and research findings, it focuses on the surveys I did among the Chinese programs in 10 private schools across the country, and among 81 students in the Chinese program of Lakeside School. By using Microsoft Excel, I analyzed the results of survey and summarized: 1. how multimedia and network technology has been used in the Chinese programs; 2. how SMART Board has been used at Lakeside. After that, I did case study on the ways of applying SMART Board in teaching Chinese, and interviewed the other two Chinese teachers at Lakeside, so as to carry out more detailed research on SMART Board. On the basis of the work above, I’ve found that: 1. modern technology has been widely used in the Chinese programs of the U.S. private schools, and most of the teachers in the survey agree that it’s very necessary; 2. SMART Board is an effective and interesting teaching aid, which has a lot of unique features and also great potential. Although at present there is still room for improvement, it’s absolutely worthwhile for us to pay attention to it and follow its development, as it has shown positive influence on Chinese teaching and tends to be more popular in future. The statistics and conclusion of this study can reflect the situation of using multimedia and network technology to assist Chinese language/culture teaching in the U.S. private schools, and evaluate SMART Board in an overall and objective way as well. It may provide helpful opinions and reasons for relevant study in future, and offer constructive ideas for developing multimedia textbooks and network resources, at the aim of supporting the work of international Chinese teaching and communication with technology and pedagogy.
