With the continuous development of China's economy, people's living standards have gradually improved, and leisure activities have gradually entered the life of the masses. At the same time, after the COVID-19 pandemic, people's understanding of health has become more profound, and a variety of healthy lifestyles have become the goal of people's pursuit, outdoor sports are gradually becoming a national sport. China's "Generation Z", a group of people born and raised in China between 1995 and 2009, was born after the mass adoption of civilian Internet, so it is also known as the "digital natives". According to the portrait of outdoor sports consumer groups, it is found that "Generation Z" is gradually becoming the main force to participate in outdoor sports, so the need to understand their motivation, experience and impact in outdoor sports is increasingly prominent.

The relevant research of "Generation Z" in China is mainly from a macro perspective, from the formation background, group characteristics and other aspects of theoretical construction, and combined with China's national conditions, the formation background, group characteristics and overall behavior characteristics of "Generation Z" in China are elaborated. In terms of outdoor sports participation research, foreign scholars pay more attention to the related social issues behind outdoor sports participation, while in China, outdoor sports participation research mainly focuses on the experience of participants, and the connection with the historical background needs to be explored. Meanwhile, quantitative research is the main research, and qualitative research needs to be enriched. Therefore, this study adopts the narrative study method in qualitative research, trying to show the real picture of Chinese Generation Z's participation in outdoor sports, and analyze their motivation, experience and influence in participating in outdoor sports. Combined with sociological theories such as interaction theory, body phenomenology, and individual socialization, this paper discusses the relationship between this group's behavior and the historical background and social issues, further deepening the understanding of Chinese Generation Z's participation in outdoor sports, and providing theoretical basis and reference for the development of China's outdoor sports industry.

According to the research content and actual situation, this study adopts the objective sampling of non-probability sampling to select 9 Generation Z youth who participate in different outdoor sports across the country as the investigation objects, and collects written data through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. At the same time, following the narrative research methodology in qualitative research, the collected text materials are analyzed to form different key concepts through category analysis, and then the research questions raised in this study are answered through thematic analysis: (1) Why do Chinese "Generation Z" people participate in outdoor sports? (2) What is the experience and experience of Chinese "Generation Z" people participating in outdoor sports? (3) What is the impact of participation in outdoor sports on the life, physical and psychological aspects of Chinese "Generation Z"? (4) What is the connection between the participation of Chinese "Generation Z" in outdoor sports and the background of The Times?

The findings are as follows: (1) The reasons for Chinese Generation Z to participate in outdoor sports mainly include the influence of the original group, the provision of emotional value and as a tool. First, the primary groups that influence Gen Z to participate in outdoor sports are mainly family, friends and peers in the network. Second, the emotional value of outdoor sports for Gen Z includes relieving stress, experiencing unique experiences, and gaining self-growth. Finally, some outdoor activities have become the interests of Gen Z as a means of completing work, finishing school and even commuting.

(2) Chinese Generation Z has a rich experience in participating in outdoor sports. They have shown a relatively positive side in terms of time and space experience, sensory experience, physical and mental experience and interpersonal experience, and this positive experience is mainly formed in comparison with various experiences in the city.

(3) Participation in outdoor sports has a positive impact on the life, physical and psychological aspects of Generation Z. It not only promotes the individual socialization of Generation Z, helps them form a new social network and choose a new social role, but also enables them to enhance their physical fitness, enjoy their body and mind, and improve themselves. The specific performance is to improve sports ability, improve physical function, maintain healthy body shape, relieve negative emotions, produce positive emotions, change personality and change the way of doing things.

(4) China's Generation Z is a generation living in a high degree of urbanization, and they use outdoor sports to combat the inner anxiety caused by social problems caused by high urbanization. Secondly, China's generation Z is a generation of relatively rich material conditions, their requirements for material conditions are more rational, more pursuit of spiritual pursuit. The experience brought by outdoor sports is completely different from the city, to a certain extent, to meet the spiritual needs of generation Z, in the process, they can give full play to their own subjectivity, and promote the Chinese generation Z willing to participate in outdoor sports as a part of life.
