With the continuous development of mobile Internet, online social media platforms have created more diversified ways to socialize, virtual socialization in cyberspace is becoming more and more common, and young online users are more active in presenting themselves on online social media platforms. The behavior of "micro-recording" has been constantly updated and iterated from the era of face-to-face socialization to the era of mediated socialization. The development of each micro-recording method does not mean replacing the previous micro-recording methods, but rather supplementing and enriching the past micro-recording behavior. Chinese college students are the main users of mobile Internet, their education level can accept new things faster, and they have strong desire to talk and express. In the era of mobile Internet, how do college students present themselves on online social media platforms? Are there any differences in the content presented on different platforms? What are the presentation methods and behavioral characteristics? What are the motivations for them to be more active in self-presentation? These questions become an important perspective for observing the development of social media in the mobile Internet era, and an important dimension for examining the mediated existence of contemporary Chinese college students in the Internet era. The dissertation uses theories such as mimesis theory, hierarchy of needs theory and communication ecological model to analyze the presentation platforms By analyzing the changes of the driving force of self-presentation of Chinese college students through the communication methods of people in different times, we analyze the ways and means of self-presentation of college students based on the transformation from face-to-face social interaction to mediated social interaction. This dissertation mainly focuses on three online social media platforms, namely, bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and Weibo, to collect samples and collate data, and conduct effective sample analysis based on the differences in positioning, content distribution, and user characteristics of each platform, as well as to extract case studies to summarize the three major characteristics of college students' self-presentation of "micro records The three major behavioral
characteristics of college students' "micro-record" self-presentation are summarized: the foregrounding of backstage behavior, the diversification of character image and the reproduction of personal experience. On this basis, the theory of communication ecological model is applied to explore and analyze the three main motives of self-presentation of college students: the behavior and purpose in the social context, mainly including the relief of real pressure, the expression of self-personality, the construction of interpersonal relationship and the desire for others' recognition; the development and empowerment of information technology, the development of technology has given rise to more diversified forms of self-presentation, and at the same time has given the presenting subject more self-presentation opportunities. The development and empowerment of information technology has given rise to more diverse forms of self-representation and more means and ways of self-representation for presenting subjects; the change of communication paradigm and empowerment has given presenting subjects more platforms and spaces to express themselves. Finally, this dissertation puts forward some standardization strategies and suggestions, suggesting that college students should regulate their self-presentation methods and behaviors, and platforms should strengthen supervision to guide college students to make more positive self-presentation and purify the online environment. |
