日语和英语分属不同语系，其人称代词在日常对话和书面使用中差异较大，因此，人称代词的翻译是文学作品英译日翻译中的一大问题。村上春树是日本当代著名作家，同时，他还是一位美国文学翻译家，大量翻译了卡佛、菲茨杰拉德、塞林格、卡波特等人的作品。村上在翻译美国现当代作家作品时，对人称代词的翻译有着自己独到的见解和翻译方法。本文从曾在翻译界产生过巨大影响的尤金·奈达的“功能对等”理论出发，结合村上的翻译理念，归纳了村上在英译日时对人称代词的翻译选择，分析这些选择背后的目的，探寻对等理论与时俱进的价值，并通过考察村上在翻译实践中对奈达理论缺陷的克服和超越，分析对等理论的实用性和缺陷性，思考译者在文学翻译活动中目的与责任。

Japanese and English belong to different language families. The personal pronouns of these two languages have divergent use both in oral and in written languages. Therefore, the translation of personal pronouns presents translators with great challenges when translating English literature works into Japanese. Haruki Murakami is a well-known Japanese writer. He is also a translator of American literature, translating a number of works by Carver, Fitzgerald, Salinger and Capote. Starting from the once influential translation theory, the functional equivalence principles of Eugene Nida, this essay combines it with Murakami’s translation theory and focuses on analyzing the translation of personal pronouns of Haruki Murakami. By analyzing the motives and reasons for Murakami’s choices of words, this essay intends to demonstrate how to use the functional equivalence principles in current literature translation, and to reflect upon the merits and drawbacks of the equivalence theory as well as translators’ responsibilities in literary translation.
