复杂性范式是从简单性到复杂性,由存在到演化,由对立到互动,由建构到生成,由寻求确定性到挑战确定性的科学思维方式。复杂性范式的确立带来思想激荡促使具有复杂性表征的谜题电影文本,如《盗梦空间》、《记忆碎片》、《死亡幻觉》、《蝴蝶效应》、《异次元骇客》、《七宗罪》等大量涌现,成为电影史中重要的电影现象。复杂性范式形塑了当代谜题电影的叙事内容、叙事结构、叙事体验、价值导向与文化意义。在后现代文化逐渐走向含混、分裂、离心、移位、变形,人类主体性逐渐被消解,理性被解构的文化语境之下,深受复杂性范式影响的谜题电影却在混沌中建构秩序和复归理性,将解谜作为抵抗现代性创伤的认知机制,对人类智性以及主体性地位的彰显使其在后现代文化大行其道的当下具有独特的文化功能与意义。

本文以当代美国谜题电影作品作为考察对象,主要运用文化研究相关理论将谜题电影放置于文化研究的视野中分析在复杂性范式影响下的谜题电影的价值导向、文化功能、文化意义以及其深受当下年轻人喜爱背后的审美立场、审美文化心理。本文第一章,对复杂性范式进行严密、完整、思辨的概念性阐释。探究复杂性范式影响下的电影创作在叙事层面呈现出的美学特征。建构复杂性范式影响下的文化思潮坐标系,为谜题电影文化研究提供比较视野。第二章分析谜题电影所展现的具有“生产性病症”的主人公将解谜作为抵抗现代性创伤的认知机制。与此同时,谜题电影所建构的认知迷宫迫使观众调动自身的认知系统,不断训练和强化解谜的能力,向内开掘人类对于大脑、神经、记忆、心理活动等主观世界的想象,向外开拓人类抵抗未知风险的能力,试图为生活在后现代文化语境中的人们提供一种生存策略,具有重要的社会文化意义。第三章则侧重分析谜题电影受当下年轻人追捧的文化现象背后的审美立场、审美文化心理以及青年文化的“圈层化”。谜题电影鲜明的“智性审美”立场蕴含着强大的审美力量。

总而言之,谜题电影在电影史中具有独特的文化地位,进一步发掘谜题电影在复杂性范式、层出不穷的新媒介以及日益复杂的生活经验影响下创作与接受层面发生的新变,进而为谜题电影的研究提供一种文化视角,以期给当下媒介融合背景下的谜题电影研究提供一种有益补充。

 Complexity paradigm is a scientific thinking mode from simplicity to complexity, from existence to evolution, from opposition to interaction, from construction to generation, from seeking certainty to challenging certainty. The establishment of the complexity paradigm has brought about ideological excitement and prompted the emergence of a large number of puzzle film texts with complex representations, such as Inception, Memento, Donnie Darko, The Butterfly Effect, The Thirteenth Floor,Se7en, which have become an important film phenomenon in the film history. The complexity paradigm shapes the narrative content, narrative structure, narrative experience, value orientation and cultural significance of contemporary puzzle films. In the cultural context of post-modern culture, which gradually moves towards ambiguity, fragmentation, centrifugation, displacement and deformation, human subjectivity is gradually dissolved and rationality is deconstructed, puzzle films, which are deeply influenced by complexity paradigm, construct order and restore rationality in chaos, and use puzzle solving as a cognitive mechanism to resist the trauma of modernity. The manifestation of human intelligence and subjectivity makes it have a unique cultural function and significance in the prevailing post-modern culture.

   Taking contemporary American puzzle films as the object of investigation, this paper mainly applies the relevant theories of cultural studies to place puzzle films in the perspective of cultural studies to analyze the value orientation, cultural function and cultural significance of puzzle films under the influence of complexity paradigm, as well as the aesthetic standpoint and aesthetic cultural psychology behind their popularity among the current young people. In the first chapter, this paper gives a rigorous, complete and speculative conceptual explanation of the complexity paradigm. This paper explores the aesthetic characteristics of film creation under the influence of complexity paradigm at the narrative level. The construction of the cultural trend of thought coordinate system under the influence of complexity paradigm provides a comparative vision for the study of puzzle film culture. The second chapter analyzes that the protagonists with "productive disorders" in the puzzle movies use puzzle solving as a cognitive mechanism to resist the trauma of modernity. At the same time, the cognitive maze constructed by the puzzle movie forces the audience to mobilize their own cognitive system, constantly train and strengthen the ability to solve puzzles, dig inside human's imagination of the subjective world such as brain, nerve, memory and psychological activities, and expand human's ability to resist unknown risks outwards, trying to provide a survival strategy for people living in the context of post-modernism culture. It has important social and cultural significance. The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the aesthetic standpoint, aesthetic cultural psychology and the "circle" of youth culture behind the cultural phenomenon that puzzle films are sought after by young people. The distinctive "intellectual aesthetic" stance of puzzle films contains powerful aesthetic power.

   All in all, puzzle film has a unique cultural position in the history of film, and further explore the new changes in the creation and acceptance of puzzle film under the influence of complexity paradigm, emerging new media and increasingly complex life experience, so as to provide a cultural perspective for the study of puzzle film. In order to provide a useful supplement to the research of puzzle film under the background of current media convergence.
