As the famous military thinker, theorists and educators in Chinese modern history, Jiang Baili had significant impact on national defense and army building during the Republic of China. Building a strong national defense is the desire of Jiang Baili’s whole life. He also knew the military education had a the great role in the construction of national defense, so , when at his thirties ,Jiang gave up a relatively leisurely political posts to the rank of major general in charge of the Baoding Military Academy.This paper briefly discussed the cause and consequence of Jiang Baili in charge of the Baoding Military Academy. Besides the preface, this paper includes four parts:The first part analysed the specific conditions of Jiang Baili in charge of the Baoding Military Academy: the first factor was relevant to Jiang Baili's own subjective wishes and aspirations, he had patriotism and ambition to serve the country and military. Secondly, he had the professional and technical conditions in charge of the Baoding Military Academy, special road of study, profound knowledge, as well as the experience as a military governor in the northeast and other places gave him solid basis. Third, the development of China's modern military education and demand for talent provided an opportunity for Jiang Baili to be in charge of the Baoding Military AcademyFinally, the demand of those in power and the appreciation of the recommender. All the factors culminated in the results that Jiang Baili in charge of the Baoding Military Academy.The second part discusses the reform of Jiang Baili after he was president of the Baoding Military Academy. Part three summarized the development of Baoding Military Academy, the change of student’s spirits and attitude, as well as the impact of Jiang Baili’s military life after he came to Baoding Military AcademyFinally, at the basis of summing up the full text I pointed out that Jiang Baili came to Baoding Military Academy with full of hope, but he left disappointed finally. Nevertheless, the management and reform of Jiang Baili at Baoding Military Academy had played an irreplaceable role in the process of modernization of military education and provided an model and experience for today's military education. In the mean time, this experience laid a very important practical basis for the future thinking of Jiang Baili and also gave real material for the formation of his military ideology.
