近年来我国精英大学中学生在网络表达和日常交际中自称“废物”的现象引发广泛关注讨论。为了深入理解这种亚文化现象，本文聚焦精英大学生在媒介生活与校园生活中的标签化自我呈现与表达这一研究主题。通过在线观察青年网络社区、线下访谈几所精英大学的学生，试图回答两个核心问题：第一，与“985废物”相似的一系列“失意者”的媒介标签有哪些？第二，“失意者”为什么使用这样的标签进行自我呈现与表达？

研究发现：“失意者”的媒介标签主要分为自贬与吹捧两种类型。一方面，标签化的表达是青年大学生群体基于社交需要的仪式化互动表达方式；而另一方面，个人的外在成就与内在情感体验是造成失意式自我呈现和表达的两个重要因素。研究建议，“失意者”现象背后折射的个体固化思维以及学校复杂的运作机制不容忽视。

Recently, the phenomenon of the elite students calling themselves "losers" has aroused widespread concern and discussion. This study focuses on the self-presentation and expression of labels in the media and college of elite students. By observing online communities and interviewing students from elite universities offline, this study tries to answer two core questions: Firstly, what are the media labels of a series of "losers" similar to "985 losers"? Secondly, why do "losers" use such labels to present and express themselves?

The research shows that the media labels of "losers" can be divided into two types: self-depraving and flattering. On the one hand, the expression of labeling is a ritualized interactive expression method of college students based on social needs. On the other hand, personal external achievement and inner emotional experience are two important factors that lead to frustration. Moreover, the research suggests that the rigid thinking of individuals and the complex operating mechanism of schools behind the phenomenon of "losers" should not be ignored.
