Utopian novels are vital parts of western culture, especially of the English literature. Utopia, which was written by Thomas More, is the foundation of the overall Utopian literature. Scholars have done a large amount of research on Utopia from the respects of ideology, politics, and religion in the past years, but the specific interpretation of Utopia in the field of literature, not to mention narratology, has been limited, with ignoring the fact that Utopia was read by people as a novel after it had been created by Thomas More during 16 Century. The thesis intends to analyze and discuss the narrative art of Utopia as a novel created by Thomas More, in order to expand new fields of research on Utopia.
