本文旨在发现教育实习对六名大四英语专业学生在教师职业理解方面的影响。具体来说,本研究通过探究在当地中学进行为期一个月的教育实习的六名学生教师的经历,着重讨论专业,认知,教学及情境等因素在她们对教师职业的理解上所产生的影响。 本研究为案例研究,采用叙述方法来回答一下几个研究问题:1. 学生教师对教育实习的期待是怎样的?2. 在实习学校她们都经历了些什么?3. 教育实习在她们对教师职业的理解上产生了什么影响?数据收集方法主要有两大类:集中式小组访谈及反思日志。 数据分析表明在实习开始时,所有的学生教师都对教育实习持不确定或是紧张的态度和情绪。一方面,她们不确定自己是否能够胜任老师这份工作。另一方面,她们听说中学生并不好相处,而且她们六人中的大多数都不太会与中学生相处。随着她们对中学教师工作环境和内容的了解,她们开始建立自信。尽管有一名学生教师并不想从事教师行业,(具体原因我会在第四章陈述),但她始终对教师职业抱有非常积极的态度。 研究还发现,在各种因素的相互影响下,比如:工作环境和她们之前所接受的各种练习形式都加深了她们对教师职业的理解。(1)一个愉快的工作环境能够减轻教师的工作压力和心理压力。(2)前期所接受的教师教育课程十分有指导意义,它不但增长了学生教师的教学知识,还为她们提供了将其与教学实践共同发展的机会。
外文摘要:
This thesis seeks to find out the impact of the teaching practice (TP) on six student teachers’ understanding of the teaching profession. Specifically, it examines the teaching experience of them working in a local middle school for a month from their own perspective illuminating the academic, cognitive, pedagogical and contextual factors that affected them on their understanding of the teaching job.With a case study design, the study adopted narrative approach to answer the following questions:1. What are the student teachers’ expectations about teaching before TP? 2. What have they experienced as a student teacher in the practicing school?3. What impact does TP have on student teachers’ understanding of teaching? Two main data collection methods were used including focus group interviews and reflective diaries. The analysis of the data reveals that at the very beginning, all of the student teachers showed their uncertainty and nervousness about the teaching practice. On one hand, they were not sure whether they could handle all the work of a teacher in their workplace. On the other hand, they all have heard that middle school students are not easy to get along with and a vast majority of the six student teachers thought they were not good at dealing with teenagers. As they were getting familiar with the working conditions of the middle school teachers’, they started to build confidence in themselves. Though one of the six student teachers did not want to choose teaching as her future career for some other reasons, which I introduce in chapter four, she still had a very positive attitude towards the teaching practice. The study also finds out that the interplay of the factors, such as the environment of their working place and the various practice forms they have done added to their understanding of the profession. (1) a good working environment is pleasant, which can relieve teachers of working and psychological stress. (2) previous English Language Teaching methodology is really instructive and enlightening in their teaching, for it not only added to their pedagogical knowledge but also provide them with a chance to develop the theory with theory in use.
