Infrastructure is the foundation upon which society depends; however continual neglect is causing these solid veins to fracture. This study has focused upon the situation in California to see how infrastructure development of the seaports and airports affects trade and GDP. From this study we have found that there is a larger effect of infrastructure development on trade, but that there also is a significant effect on GDP. Each has its unique niche for exporting goods, and only by improving the capacity of both will the full capacity for California’s trade be realized.
