This thesis aims at empirically investigating the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Economic growth of Cameroon economy between the time periods of 1985 to 2019 using the Aggregate Production Function (APF) framework by conducting a causal and quantitative research design permitting the study of a cause effect relationship.

The empirical analysis point out the long-run FDI, Trade Openness, domestic investment and total labor force driving force of economic growth of Cameroon economy. Hence it’s concluded that not only FDI did play a major role in the economy of recovery of Cameroon during this time period but also trade openness, domestic investment and labor force contributed to its growth.

With Cameroon’s richness in factor endowment, in order to further increase its economic growth, the government needs to promote the usage of the FDI inflows for the development of manufacturing industries and services. This will go a long way as to empower the population of the economy and creating a greater skill basket. Furthermore the government needs to also encourage the creation and development of small business through reducing the bribery and bottleneck system, and making it possible for these to obtain loans from financial institutions for their development.
