隐喻是不同文化中浓缩的精华，也是一种社会认知行为。而隐喻翻译中最大的挑战便是精炼且精准的还原原文的意义，而并非机械地逐字逐句翻译。 《呼啸山庄》是19世纪闻名世界的女作家艾米丽?勃朗特的一部充满神秘色彩和超凡魅力的巨著，作品一经问世，就吸引了无数学者的眼光，古往今来，《呼啸山庄》被翻译成许多不同的版本，本文作者选择了中文译本中最具代表性、广受欢迎的杨苡学者的译本作为本文研究的重点。在这部巨著中，作者有许多隐喻的使用，对于准确翻译隐喻也提出了更高的要求。作者希望在奈达的功能对等理论的指导下尝试分析和确定杨苡学者在翻译《呼啸山庄》中的隐喻时所采用的方法和技巧。 作者首先介绍了研究的背景、意义及其重要性，继而回顾了前人关于隐喻翻译的研究，以及对于杨苡译本的研究。通过与其他译本的对比，作者分析出了杨苡在隐喻翻译时所运用的一些方法，包括直译和意译等。 通过以上研究，作者得出了以下结论：隐喻包含着特定的文化元素，在翻译时需要考虑语言环境、作者创作的目的、以及汉语惯用的表达方式这些因素，从而采取最为适宜的翻译策略。

Metaphor, is not only as one of the essential expressions of a certain culture, but also a significant mean of social cognition. Then, it is the biggest challenge to express the meaning of the original text precisely, not to translate metaphors word by word. Wuthering Heights, a world-renowned novel of Emily Bronte’s, which is full of magic glamour and mystery and contains a lot of metaphors, has attracted many scholars and been translated into many versions. Among the Chinese versions, Yang Yi’s translation was the most popular one. The author is trying to analyze and indentify the methods Yang Yi used when she translated Wuthering Heights under the direction of the functional equivalent theory of Nida. The author introduces the background and the meaning and necessity of research at first, and then literature reviews of metaphor translation and that in Yang Yi’s Wuthering Heights. Then, with an attempt at comparing different Chinese versions, the author analyzes Yang Yi’s methods of translating metaphors, including free translation and literal translation. At last, the author tries to conclude that, in dealing with metaphor, a translator needs to take all the lingual elements, the intention of the writer, and the natural Chinese expression into consideration to decide the final method.
