围绕“神圣”展开的种种言说,构成了现代社会“神秘的存在”。 从来没有哪个时代像现代这样,有如此众多的思想者以巨大的热情和自信去言说神圣,并且以他们对神圣的言说,渗透以至影响到我们文化的方方面面,事实上,这些围绕“神圣”展开的种种言说,几乎触及了现代思想的每一个领域。在严格意义上,神圣是一种宗教经验,是见物和不可见物之间、此岸和彼岸之间的确实可感的结合,是自然与超自然的具体相遇。在涵盖的范围上,神圣包含了宗教却远远大于宗教范畴,从最原始的蕴涵了宗教思想的一切仪式、神话、信仰或神灵的形象,到最发达的宗教,都属于神圣的范畴。多样的、无处不在的“显圣物”从外在表征上表证了神圣,但在本质上,神圣是一种内在经验事实,能否体验到神圣,远远超出了宗教范畴,对人的生命存在有着根本性的意义,它标志了人类历史进程中两种截然不同的存在状况和模式,即“神圣”和“世俗”的存在模式。人在世界中神圣感的失落,是现代社会独具特色的失落。但神圣的失落仅仅是现代社会围绕“神圣”展开的全部言说的源起,与之相伴而生并萦绕不绝的,是关于神圣的久远记忆和怀恋之歌,从某种意义上说,“现代”的足迹有多远,人们对神圣世界的怀旧恋曲就有多长。“进步”与“怀旧”——事实上早已成了现代思想的“一体两面”。如果说浪漫主义和现代主义者对神圣世界的哀挽还仅仅代表了“第一个实现现代文明”的西方世界的精英知识分子对人类生存状况的文学性表述,那么,伴随着20世纪西方现代化进程向非西方世界的推进,“精神荒芜”、“价值缺失”、“意义匮乏”这些字眼早已成为中国的大众传媒津津乐道的话题。就是在这样的情境下,纪伯伦以其自身生命存在和文学创作中独特的“神圣”言说,触及了现代社会最隐秘的灵魂深处,也由此构成了纪伯伦“存在”的意义。而在中国,民间读者对纪伯伦文学作品“灵性”的关注,提示我们在当下现实语境中重新挖掘纪伯伦作品中“神圣”内涵的必要性和现实性。纪伯伦的文学作品,是描述和反思“现代性”的经典。因此,本文不仅针对国内纪伯伦研究的“西方语境”缺失,深入挖掘纪伯伦文学创作与西方现代语境的现实和精神关联,而且以“文化间性”为切入视角,探究纪伯伦文学创作中所蕴含的西方现代文化与阿拉伯-伊斯兰文化之间的“共通性和互动性”,展示文化的可通约性,同时展现在西方思想中作为“一场未停歇的自我反思、共存和对话的一部分”的另一种东方的知识,由此警醒当前后殖民敌对话语中的“化约性冲突”,对以“共存”和“扩大人道主义视野”为目的的文化对话提供另一种视野。 关键词:纪伯伦;神圣;文化间性;纪伯伦风格;阿拉伯裔美国文学;苏菲主义;苏菲派
外文摘要:
Various narrations about “holiness”are the “mysterious being” of modern society. There is no era as modern times in which so many thinkers have been trying to narrate holiness in such great enthusiasm and confidence , which penetrates and affects every aspect of our culture and virtually touches every area of modern thoughts.In the strict sense,holiness is a kind of religious experience .It is the perceptible combination and concrete meeting between the visible and the invisible ,this shore and the other shore , nature and super-nature. In scope, holiness includes religion but wider than it,it includes everything from all rites、mythologies、beliefs or the images of deities that contains from the most primitive religious factors to the most advanced religions.In external representation,the “hierophany” which is varied and exists everywhere represents holiness ,but in essence, holiness is a kind of inner experience truth ,so whether one can experience holiness extends beyond the religious domain and constitutes the origin of the human being ,for it marks two completely different existing patterns:holiness and secularity. Loss of holiness is the characteristics of modern society,but the loss is only the source which leads to all narrations about holiness,that following with it and lingering all the time is the reminiscence and nostalgia for holiness.So in some sense,when “modern”begins, nostalgia for the holy world also begins.That is to say, modern thoughts is the binary of “progress”and“nostalgia”.If the mourns for the holy world of Romanticist and modernist only present the literary expressions of western elites, then following with the modernizing expanding to the non-western world in the 20th century , the words such as spirit desolation、absence of value and void of meaning have become hot topics of mass media in China.This is in the context, the unique representations on “holiness” of Gibran's life and writings touch the hidden soul of modern society,which reveals Gibran′s“being” significance.Furthermore,inchina,the“spirituality”meaning has been deeply concerned by polular readers,this points out the necessity and immediate significance to re-discover the “holiness” connotation in his literary works.Gibran's literary works are the classic of describing and reflecting the “modernism”. So, this thesis not only detects the realistic and thinking relations of his works and the western or occidental context ,but also probes into the “sharing and interaction” between the western modern culture and Islamic culture through “interculturality” perspective. And Based on the studies,this thesis presents the cultural universality and the other oriental knowledge as “a part of continuing self-reflection ,coexisting and dialogue”,hence warning the so called post-colonialist “simplicity conflict”, and providing the other perspective in order to realize the cultural dialogue for“coexisting”and“enlarging the humanism perspective” .Keywords:KahlilGibran;holiness;interculturality;Gibranism;Arab-American literature;Sufism;Sufi group
