新媒体装置艺术在中国乃至世界范围内已经充分展开，其要求艺术家不仅要具备很高的艺术素养，还要具备对各种高新技术的熟练掌握和灵活运用能力，技术成为艺术家进行创作的支撑手段，但技术不可取代艺术，其是次要的，创新思想才是第一位。西方当代艺术的前卫性、试验性使得艺术正在急剧地脱离社会，新媒体装置艺术作为人类自我探索的手段，要求艺术家必须彻底分析与了解自己所生存的年代及其所负载的内容，将这个时代特有的美学形态通过新媒体装置作品展现出来。对于中国新媒体装置艺术家，要时刻关注当下人们的生活环境及状态，并与其他领域诸如商业、教育、医学等进行合作，根据中国特有的文化底蕴内涵，以最适当的表现形式创作，才能使作品产生现实意义，引发人们对生命的深层思考。 通过相关书籍资料查阅以及实地考察等形式，对国外新媒体装置艺术的发展进行全面的分析与探究，对经典实例进行深入分析，进而解决上述的几个问题，结合中国新媒体艺术的现况，探索出一条发展突破之路。

New Media Installation Art has been fully carried out in China and around the world. It requests the artists not only to produce high art quality, but also to master a variety of high-tech and flexible use of the capacity. Such Technology has been the support to artists’ creation. However technology can not replace art. The innovative idea is the most important thing. Western contemporary arts are created mainly from the social cause of avant-garde and experiment. New Media Installation Art is a meaning of human self-exploration. It requests that artists must have a thorough analyses and understanding of their own survival and contents, showing the aesthetical form of times through the work. China's New Media Installation artists should always be aware of the present people's living environment and the connotation of Chinese culture, and then cooperate with commercial, education, medicine and other industries. The most appropriate work form will make people thinking deeply. Through the Information retrieval and site visits, I will explore the development of New Media Installation Art abroad and will then conduct an in-depth study of the classic examples - then I will solve the above-mentioned issues and will try to explore the development further to make a break through on the current situation of the New Media Art in China.
