本研究考察了北京市流动人口家庭中家长和子女对于学校教育权威和文凭制度的态度,了解这一群体子女从事底层劳动力工作是主动选择还是被动放弃的结果,从而揭示社会结构中农民工群体底层地位再生产的逻辑和机制。研究发现,首先,农民工家庭中的男女不平等观念使得女生比男生更加服从学校权威,更希望获得学业上的成功。其次,农民工子弟虽然对由教师和文凭代表的知识权威依然怀有敬畏,希望实现向上流动,但是对通过教育实现这一目标的效用现已产生诸多质疑。其中,社群影响和传媒效应在解构对知识改变命运观念的认同过程中发挥了明显作用。传统上升渠道式微而当前社会又没有提供其他选择,这种迷茫状态使得他们选择了从事底层劳动力工作这一相对明确的道路,进而完成了阶层再生产。
外文摘要:
This article aims to illustrate the reproduction process of social status among internal migrant workers in China by a filed work in a migrants’ neighborhood in Beijing. This research answered two main questions. First, how the children in migrant workers’ families treat the authority of school education and diploma. Second, are they willing or forced to become workers after graduation. Research found that firstly, as a result of the gender discrimination in the families, girls, compared to boys, showed more obedience to school authority and worked harder to gain academic success. Secondly, following the traditional worship to the power of education, these students kept respect to teaches and diploma, however, the belief in education were destructed by the facts of other migrants’ experiences and what they learned everyday from media reports. Since their past upward channel became unreliable and they could not see any alternatives at present, they chose the relatively clearer path to attain the jobs like their parents, thus, completed the process of social reproduction.
